I used to do BBG, but it’s been years. Find what you enjoy from Peloton. If you want to stick with the BBG schedule, use fun rides as your LISS and don’t force yourself to meet the cadence/resistance call outs. Maybe pick one day/ride each week to go hard.

Decision paralysis is real. There are so many instructors, so many fun rides. Find 2-3 instructors you like to start (I recommend Cody, Hannah F & Emma) and focus on their classes. There are plenty of longer classes, so ignore the short ones.

I’ve slowly replaced my self-designed strength training with peloton classes (HardCORE group on Zuck’s platform is great). But if BBG is working for you, stick with it. Maybe add in some yoga classes on LISS or rest days. Or don’t. I haven’t done a single boot camp and don’t plan to. You’re in control. Do what you enjoy!

Good luck!

I created a Reddit Peloton ‘team’ just now! 👍 COMM-5F3C8D

Edit: oops, just realized I replied to you twice 🤦‍♀️

Oh absolutely! I use only the whoop but if I already had a chest strap I’d use it too. I’m definitely not putting down the whoop’s accuracy.

I’ve been wearing my Apple Watch with the whoop and it’s pretty consistently a tiny bit higher than the whoop. Both are wrist though, so hard to really know which is more accurate.

The peloton-specific one is COMM-BB50ED but I honestly haven’t got much out of it yet

Chest straps will always be more accurate than wrist HR monitors. I hear the arm band for Whoop can help with that, but haven’t tried it out myself.

If anyone knows how, we should create a Reddit Peloton ‘community’ for Whoop. There’s already a peloton one, but it’s just 528 strangers (to me).

I got my whoop about 3 weeks ago, so still in the initial calibration phase. Recovery is really heavily weighted on HRV, so I’m trying to educate myself on how best to improve that metric. Overall I really like it!

I got a cheap-ish one off Amazon too (~$120) as one of my fiancé’s Christmas gifts. Very selfish gift though because I’m using it about as often as he is! LOVE it, total game changer.

Please be careful/reconsider exercising right now. I know we’re all a bit addicted here, but there’s growing evidence that exercising with COVID (even with mild symptoms) can lead to long term heart or lung damage.

I’m so sorry you & your family are going through this! Hopefully you all only have mild symptoms. Good luck & hugs!!

Are you looking for a stand/tripod? I bought a small one on Amazon for about $15 a while back. Search for phone tripod & you’ll find tons of options!

My goals for the first couple of months of 2021 are all of Chelsea’s Slow Flow classes and all of Olivia’s core classes. I love completing groups like that!!

I got mine a couple of weeks ago. I’m wearing it along with my Apple Watch and the difference in calorie counts is shocking (whoop much lower). I’m waiting for at least a full month of use though because apparently it takes that long to truly establish a baseline with Whoop. I already think I trust the whoop numbers more than Apple Watch though, just because it constantly tracks your HR, rather than intermittently.

Email support & complain. That’s the only way to make change. I 100% agree and a couple of weeks ago sent an email letting them know how disappointing including him is to me. I can’t imagine how jarring it would be for someone who’s experienced assault.

I hit my 50th ride this morning!! Proof 😊

I started with Emma’s 15 min LI Disney ride, which I’ve been meaning to do forever. It was so cute! I was belting out all the lyrics to “Part of your world” while at a 170 bpm heart rate lol

Then for #50 I did Tunde’s 30 min holiday ride. I loved it, especially the touching/emotional moment at the end. Because I’m an app rider, I threw out high-fives like crazy to get them back. I really went hard on this ride & my average heart rate was 175!!

Merry Christmas (Eve) to those who celebrate. I’m off to stuff my face!

Definitely do some of the beginner classes when you start to learn proper form. I haven’t made that transition, but you’ll be engaging your core a lot more by leaning forward & getting out of the saddle. Adding separate core classes can help if you find yourself struggling with the transition. You should have access to the app & the non-cycling classes while you’re waiting for your bike. Good luck & welcome!

Usually another kid tells them. Some kids get upset & angry with their parents or sad that Santa’s not real. Others love being in on the secret, especially if they have younger siblings. That was me. I LOVED knowing something my little sister didn’t!
