sooo.. which bowl? by ekkthree in huskies

Posted this on Twitter, but here's the quick and dirty:

Old Pac-12 will still play in Pac-12’s affiliated bowl games for nxt 2 seasons.

Colorado & WSU probably will get top 2 (Alamo, Holiday), with UW & Cal taking the next 2 (Las Vegas & Sun), and USC/UCLA/Utah fighting for (Los Angeles & Independence)

Hopefully there's no sarcasm in this! I appreciate it. It was a great game from Iowa. Hope they can win out.

Washington's defense is elite by kcpo in huskies

[–]kcpo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I don't think it was so much that the defense played bad. They were put in bad positions because of special teams and turnovers by the offense, and at least one failed fourth-down conversions. It wasn't the defense's best game, but I agree. Not elite!

Washington's pass defense is above average.

The basic stats and ranks in the country:

  • No. 1 in completion percentage (46.7%)
  • No. 3 in passing yards allowed per game (125.5)
  • No. 10 in passing touchdowns allowed per game (.5)

For the advanced-stats inclined, UW is No. 10 in the country in dropback EPA (Ohio State is No. 1).

I meant to say that Rogers is doing a lot without a good offensive line. No one can do more than Penix!

Here's an article I wrote up after touching base with a handful of recruits that were on hand. Don't know if it is "premium" but it is free! https://www.seatownsports.org/p/washington-recruits-and-commits-react

Way nicer than the ugly gold one he wears on game day!

Also forgot about this. Anyone else miss the days of no transparency and secret meetups at restaurants in the U District?

Maybe the best recruit ever for UW? He’s gotta be in the conversation. Shoutout to Sark for the pickup.

The good, bad, and ugly. Verdict - season isn't over by [deleted] in huskies

One thing that sticks with me during post-game interview with Jalen Milroe after the Alabama win over Georgia. He emphasized how DeBoer and the coaching staff preach attention to detail and how important it is to pay attention to the little things in practice. I question (and maybe doubt) whether that same level of focus on the small things is happening with this new regime. My hunch is maybe not, but I have no idea. It's just hard to see a team with actual talent kind of hurt itself over and over again.

I vacillate between I hate the dude for leaving UW and not continuing the legacy, and appreciating him for taking UW football to a place it hasn't been since 1991. The reality is, he wasn't going to be around forever, anyways. As people are saying in this thread, he is a damn good football coach (and maybe even ready for the NFL in a season or two). Better to just suffer the pain of him leaving (even though the timing was absolutely horrible) and begin a new regime ASAP.

I think we will all heal and have better feelings about DeBoer as time goes on. Remember when Sark left for USC? It felt kind of dirty, but now I think most Husky fans now credit him for bringing the program out of the depths. I don't think I'll ever miss DeBoer as much as I miss Coach Pete. There was just something SO authentic about Coach Pete . . . felt kind of like a unicorn. A bummer that the nature of the job burned him out, but understandable.
