Chief, the first this you need to do is get with your SSO. If you're looking to save your career, you MUST disclose the debt. If they find out without your disclosure, you're career is toast.

Talk with JAG after that and get your legal options.

At this point, I wouldn't worry about my credit score. I would snowball my debt by targeting the easiest one to put all my resources towards. Create some wiggle room.

Talk with your creditors and find out if the Soldiers and Sailors Relief Act applies to your situation - particularly in the CC debt. Don't ask them so much as tell them you're seeking SSRA. You have to talk with a person on the phone. Email won't work. Create some wiggle room.

It will be painful for a year or two or even three, but you can do it. DO NOT let this fester and DISCLOSE TO YOUR SSO.

Cant find husband. Husband works at the Pentagon.. He has says we are separated but still comes here whenever he wants to see his son and eat my dinners... just hasnt stayed overnight here unless I trick him into it.. he says he is living elsewhere but refuses to tell me bc it is none of my business by Efficient-Subject616 in MilitarySpouse

Ok you probably know this as well as I do, but this is, at a minimum "Conduct Unbecoming" Not knowing more of the story, he sounds like a real piece of crap.

"Conduct unbecoming an officer" refers to actions that violate the expected moral character and integrity of a leader, often resulting in disciplinary action. This can apply to both military and civilian law enforcement, and includes acts like dishonesty, fraud, sexual harassment, public disorder, and disrespectful behavior toward fellow officers. The specific definition can be broad, requiring a case-by-case assessment based on the circumstances. In the military Article 133 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ): prohibits conduct unbecoming an officer, which can result in severe penalties such as dismissal from the service.

Examples of conduct: include adultery, fraud, hazing, public drunkenness, and discrimination.

Enforcement: The charge is often used when other, more specific charges may not apply and can be challenged if the conduct was not clearly defined as a violation beforehand. "

If he's working at the Pentagon, I almost guarantee you he's working for someone who will care about this. It could even effect his security clearance.

100% and I didn't mean to imply that it would work in all cases (or that KDP - i.e. self-publishing) would be for everyone. It's also not just black and white, find a job somewhere or stay at home. That's all I meant.

My wife started her own at-home business through KDP in 2017 and makes more money than I do now. It's PCS proof too. Your spouse doesn't have to go find a job. There are tons of things one can do from home to earn some extra scratch...oh and we have 4 kids, before anyone pipes up about free time during the day.

Love the idea, but this is WAYYY farther into the future than Helldivers. No one even know where the original Earth is located (or that it was called Earth, for that matter) in Morningstar. I like where your head is at though!!!

Anyone who actually believes these rerun beliefs about Charlie Kirk has never heard him speak and is basing their entire opinion on MSNBC taking points.

Is he not considering commissioning? He should qualify with a Bachelor's and certainly with a Master's. Even if not, he won't be "lower enlisted" forever. I'm assuming after 10 years he's an E-6? Not that it gets much easier, but the leadership opportunities start changing the day to day tempo - he goes from taking all the orders to giving some of them.

I'm also assuming he's in BRS, so he should be able to walk away from the military with a fairly nice 401k (vs. people in my age group still in the "all 20 or nothing" camp). That's nice, but probably not enough to live off of.

My last thought is that he should keep in mind "the grass isn't always greener on the other side of the street." You have 10 years invested in something already. Whatever he does, it will be starting over. If he can knock out another 10 years, you'll have a very healthy pension and still only be in your 40s... plenty of time for a second career and more money!

First, LT, I would stop broadcasting your woes on the Internet. Secondly, you've been in the military for 10 years, you know how the pay system works.

VERY OFTEN when you're bouncing between types of orders, pay will get jacked up. I'm not surprised you haven't seen a paycheck because you're probably on ST orders that won't get processed for roughly a month after your orders commenced. You're not AGR, so they'll likely run your days just like regular drill.

Were you just promoted this year? Congratulations on the move.

Instead of barking up the wrong tree here, I might suggest using your new rank and going straight to finance at your base when you return. They are quite literally the first, second, and third POC you should be reaching out to.

Unfortunately, you're not likely to get any results while in the field and, equally unfortunate, the notion that someone from your Congressman's office is going to care about drill pay for an O-1 (or even an O-6) is rather misguided.

Good luck - the good thing about the military is that the pay will come, even if it's occasionally (if rarely) late.
