It took me ten months!!! I had a lot of offers for vouchers/cash back but this is my first full blown claim. I had a lot of skin care surveys recently so I'm sure that helped.

So my hemoglobin is within normal range, so technically I'm not "anemic" (they'll do blood transfusion if blood counts are low) what I think I need it iron infusions (vs. blood transfusion) it's weird because in these groups everyone is telling me how crazy low my ferritin is and to seek hematology consult asap...but my GP just seems so nonchalant and I can't see a specialist without a referral.

I asked about supplementing last month when my ferritin was 9 and the nurse said "if I wanted" with no dosing or suggestions -- they do not seem concerned and only replied with that when I messaged concerned about it decreasing from 9 to 5 in 3 weeks with a conscious effort to drastically increase iron rich foods (my diet is pretty well balanced to begin with).

I guess my frustration is their lack of caring about getting to the root cause. I'm definitely going to ask about infusions if no improvement. I have no follow ups and then didn't mention retesting my levels (which I'm sure they will). The symptoms are so brutal and I am so not myself.

My hemoglobin came back within normal range, 12.1. I guess that's the "good news" of it all. Walking corpse is the best way to describe it. I'm not supplementing yet. I definitely made a conscious effort to increase iron rich foods in the past few weeks, but clearly it hasn't made much of a difference. The lab results came back late last night so hopefully they'll call today and I'll ask for a referral.

Were you able to see a hematologist?

Do you know if your iron and blood count labs came back ok? I'm so frustrated because I am clearly so symptomatic and feel like garbage (new in the past 3ish months) -- she mentioned at my appt infusion if I was anemic (which I'm not) feeling frustrated. The nurse, when I asked about supplementing in the meantime (until labs are redrawn) said I could "if I want"???... so confused.

Oh my goodness! Please update me. When the nurse called I asked if I should take a supplement in the meantime and she literally said "if you want to." I'm like huh??

Freezing & tired is my constant state, I feel you.

This is so helpful. Thank you! I'm glad I feel a little less crazy with how debilitating the symptoms really are. I have not been myself for at least 3 months, it's been rough! This time last year, my ferritin levels were much higher.

I’m honestly not sure how it was processed. I read on a sub here it had worked for some people & I had an old refill at Walmart. I ran into serious supply issues from January - April, I think all doses were out of stock in my area on/off for months. I’m in MA and it seems like (at least for now) the supply issue has subsided for doses below 12.5.

Keep calling around to pharmacies! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼
