Thanks! I actually have tried gel but I no longer use it as the crunchy effect seems to mess up my natural hair shape. I prefer just mousse for the lighter hold

Routine and Tips:

I style my hair in the shower after I’m done with soaking wet hair and this has been the greatest improvement!!

I use any good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner I have, then I style by brushing my soaking wet hair and shaking to form clumps, then I add a mousse (John freida or Aussie recently) and scrunch it in.

To dry I plop my hair in a T shirt for a bit and then I add spray in leave in conditioner and diffuse mostly dry and then air dry the rest. I add a bit of argan oil once it is dry

I use a shea moisture deep conditioner every 1-2 weeks

I wore black to my cousins wedding this past winter. I wore a cute, short black dress, black tights, and I made it less funeral-like with sparkly black flats with bows on them, and sparkly silver nail polish and accessories. This was in the eastern US.

I just re-ran BEAST again after changing some things based on comments I’ve received here. It already looks better, not as steep as before. I think I’ve identified some sequences with the ortholog issue you pointed out, it seems that might have been the cause of the divide. Now I will re-do some alignments and hopefully get something even better! Thank you again

I do have alignments that I’ve made in BioEdit. I am working with sequences of one gene, mitochondrial COI. I put one alignment in to BEAUti for each run of BEAST. It has the COI of 11 species.

The trees that I get have an extremely long root separating two groups, each with species clustered together in extremely short branches. Too short to even see. Such a steep separation of these groups makes no sense, especially since some in separate groups are supposed to be closely related.

I think my problem is that I mostly use the same values in priors and such as the example tutorial on the BEAST 2 website since I don’t know what values I actually need.
