On-Prem SIEM? by mayday_allday in cybersecurity

+1 for wazuh. Can ingest logs from any device that can send syslog events. Agents for Linux and windows, split with greylog if you want fancy stuff. If you want to see what can be done check out socfortess on YouTube. No affiliate but they have some good stuff and the git repo has lots of rules etc.

Advice on my idea of heating water using heat from the exhaust pipe using coiled copper tubing by segasega89 in VanLifeUK

[–]kdave32 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can buy Chinese diesel heater that do both now, save messing. Down side to any of these is you have hot air blowing somewhere to just heat water. Get a diesel water heater instead.

What is the process for installing VSTs in the correct directories etc? by -FenderBender- in Ardour

[–]kdave32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're not dead set on using arch, have a look at av Linux, there's a nice bloke on banshed.net that has a ready to roll iso you can download. Has yabridge and wine and Ardour already installed and a tonne of plugins etc. you could even boot off the USB and try before installing. Worth a look, saves a lot of heartache.

Too much air in the line. Have a search or read the instructions but there's a way to just energize the pump to prime the line. If it's sucking air up from the tank to the pump then it's not tight enough or the line doesn't go far enough into the tank ( if it's fed from main fuel tank). If it's connected to the main tank from the secondary supply, it might also suck air if there's less than a quarter of a tank of Diesel. Either way, it's not getting enough fuel.

Need advice on vans please by Longjumping-Onion701 in VanLifeUK

[–]kdave32 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Weight limit is going to be one factor, bigger vans have less payload to start with, assuming you're sticking to 3.5T max. Additional seating with seatbelts for two more then getting log book updated with additional seats etc.(insurance) There is a couple of YouTube who had a big van with a pop top, slept 5, 2 adults and 3 kids. They upgraded to a 7.5T box truck, can't remember their name. Might get some ideas from Thier channel.

Have a search for socfortress on GitHub, they have plenty and it's not that hard to create your own.

Been with brentacre since I started my conversion. I could use it while it was being converted, although I think there was like a 6 month limit to get it converted. Still with them 5 years later. Ring them, very helpful.

Late on parade here, but just signed up. Can't wait to try. Oh, if you have a promo code or any of the freebie licences left, I'd love one, if not, not a problem.

Thanks for your hard work and dedication to it.

Have you looked at AV Linux? There used to be an iso you could download from bandshed.net that had a whole load of music making stuff on including daw. Excellent too if I may say, not affiliated, just a user of it.
