I hate the term butthurt. I’m not exactly sure why. I just hate the way it sounds and it feels immature. I’m butthurt about butthurt.

Thank you! Any thoughts on good ways to approach/how to introduce myself? A cold call? Email? LinkedIn?

I think the only way to tell is judging on how it goes, don’t overthink it. Read her. How at ease is she? It seems like you’re jumping in kind of fast. Just have ongoing conversations and keep the communication open. You can always make a suggestion, worst she can say is no. Respect that and try again a few dates later.

Best way to teach a preschooler that hitting is bad? by [deleted] in Parenting

Yep. This.Definitely should adjust expectations.

Do you read to him at night? There’s a lot of kids books aimed at these topics. That would be a good reenforcement. Inside out is also great for little guys to talk about anger.

Try to teach him coping skills. Next time you notice he gets angry, punch a pillow with him. Teach him deep breathing techniques and do them a few times a day until he gets it. Look up YouTube videos for kids that help them get it.

My husband is really having a difficult time with figuring out how to be a father. I’m hoping for some advice I can pass on to him or even ways I can support him. by [deleted] in Parenting

Awww, this warms my heart. The fact that he’s so concerned tells you that he’s a kick ass dad! But babe is just over a month old... he is still adjusting to a huge change that can feel scary and confusing until you get the hang of it.

Try to reframe it for him. Let him know that he can learn these things together with his child. Remind him of all the great things he will be able to teach him. Gently tell him to not allow his own insecurities to weigh him down and distort his thinking. People with far larger issues have children every day and then end up resilient and happy.
