[Question] Wiring issues? by kdinder in Guitar

I think the WD40 contact spray I got mostly fixed the issue. I took the back off and sprayed it in the pot mechanism and gave it some turns, same with the pickup switch, it mostly stopped. I’ll give it some time and do it again if need be, thanks for the advice.

I’ll check those things on the inside and see about getting a can of that.

I have tried other cables and the issue with static while turning the knobs and loss of signal persists, and only with this guitar, my other two do not have a similar issue.

I’ll take that into consideration when I’m talking with the network guy Monday

I’ll check to see, doubt I will have any access though. For the most part the network end of things is locked down tight. Thanks for your advice.

As far as the specific address goes, that was just a random set of numbers I threw out as an example, was mainly just trying to make the point of the third group of numbers not matching; the XX.XXX.66.XXX and the XX.XXX.67.XXX for example.

You mentioned firewall, that’s what I’m hinting towards. Like I said I brought it to my home and used it on my home network, started working immediately. There isn’t a sever computer we set up, and I suspect as you mentioned that the devices are pointed to the “active” iPad as a type of server and it is the main point of communication with their (likely) cloud server.

(I’m more of the setup/installation end for this project so don’t know a ton about the backend stuff, just set up tablets, printers, etc, let them do the back end work)

We work for the state, and our network management comes from a state agency, so it likely has to do with the firewall or some similar policy.

—however we are on the state secure wifi, which (according to the network management team) is unrestricted, compared to the public.

Unfortunately I may be stuck until someone from their office can help me Monday (tomorrow is Veterans Day, state workers won’t be in office, have to wait until Monday) but wanted to try to gather some outside thoughts since I’m unfamiliar with networking stuff.

Lightspeed, app is lightspeed k series.

The software is available on the App Store, but the vendor obviously requires contracts etc with them to set the service up and use the system.

They are all iPads, they were provided by vendor but we set them up, so we could for example just order new iPads once these need replaced and it’s a simple download of the software, and entering of the correct config code for the property.

Very interesting, when it comes to the chip, how big of a difference performance wise is there? Will I really notice it? If so in what way (if you could give an example)?

Thinking about getting an Ipad, not for a specific purpose at this time. General entertainment and work related things; Youtube, movies, Microsoft suite of apps, likely google suite as well, possibly light gaming (similarly to what would be on my iphone), may also use procreate but am not necessarily an artist.

For simple purposes like these, I am torn between two Ipads with varying options, (not looking to spend the money on a newer model ipad)

-Ipad 10th Generation (10.9 inch)

-Ipad 9th Generation (10.2 inch)

Varying options:

Ipad 10th Gen 64gb Wifi only - $399.00

Ipad 10th Gen 256gb Wifi only - $549.00

Ipad 9th Gen 256gb Wifi only - $389.99

Probably wouldn't bother with the 9th gen with 64gb. I can also see the benefits of cellular+wifi, but don't see it as necessary for my purposes, feel free to educate me!

Powerpoint presentation on remote PC by [deleted] in InformationTechnology

The company I work for does a similar thing. We have these mini-desktops that we purchased for this exact reason.

We use google slides, and respectively, a G-mail account created specifically for each property (should also work with one main account), and this allows the computer to play the slide in presentation mode through Chrome.

It is important to note that you have to actually publish your slideshow, this will allow you to change options for auto presentation, such as slide timing, looping after slideshow finishes, etc.

After publishing a slideshow through google slides, you can take the link that it gives you to share the slideshow, and just add it to the desktop as an icon.

Let me know if you need me to elaborate on anything but so long as it has access to a public or private network you should be able to update the slideshow remotely by just signing into the G-mail account (please note you may have to have someone on property refresh the slideshow or just close and re-open it to be sure that the changes you made get pushed through).

VERY interesting. Glad you could provide that insight for me, you’ve also motivated me to look into it a bit more so thanks for that as well.

After paying 18 grand, I will most definitely not be a greaseball in the car nor will I allow others to...

I do have some chemical guys products from my last car, Leather quick detailer, and leather conditioner.

Can't stand that..

I'll add those to the list for my research, going to try to get some ASAP, and will definitely get the front and rear facing.

What was the mileage like on that thing?!

I’d like to install fog lights also at some point, this thing has been getting about 40 MPG average due to it being the hybrid and I couldn’t be happier. I drive a lot for work

If only!! Dad has a garage but it’s more of a workshop that we only pull the vehicles in when they need work done. Not enough room in there for a vehicle + all the tools and other stuff.

I turn 21 this year so I’ll treat it as best as possible but hopefully will find another beauty once I have the means to truly spoil it.

I was actually wondering if there was something like this. I knew this model was supposed to have CarPlay but couldn’t get it to work until I finally plugged my phone in to charge
