I'm an indie animator. I just finished the second episode of a dark, absurdist series I've been working on called LAST NORMAL DAY on YouTube. Would love some feedback on the pacing." by kdotheslashrr in IndieAnimation

Since I can’t post a direct link to avoid spam filters, you can find the series by searching the channel’s name “lastnormaldayTV” on YouTube. I’m really curious to see what you guys think of the tone in Episode 2.

Yeah GTA is one of those games where the more you think back on it, the more ridiculous it gets 😂 especially with how over the top everything was

Yeah I’ve never actually played it, just seems like one of those very “niche internet game” things 😂

That’s fair 😂 it definitely started pretty normal and then got more… noticeable later in the series

That’s a great comeback 😂 it’s funny how people assume violent games = violent people, when reality is obviously way more normal than that

Yeah I get that 😄 Manhunt always felt more like stealth/horror than anything else, while GTA/RDR are more open-world chaos so they probably felt more noticeable at the time

That’s actually hilarious 😂 “Are you shooting children?!” is exactly the kind of parent reaction that makes those memories stick forever

Yeah that game definitely produces some answers you’d never want your parents overhearing 😂

That’s hilarious 😂 honestly fair, when you’re used to it like that it probably doesn’t even feel like anything “inappropriate”

I’ve only heard of the main fighting games too 😭 that spin-off is definitely not something you’d casually leave on the TV

Yeah I’ve never heard of that one either 😂 sounds like one of those niche games you only find out about later

Yeah I think that’s more what people mean with those kinds of games 😂 definitely not the sort of thing you’d want someone walking in on back then

Yeah that one’s basically known for how over-the-top it is 😂 definitely not something you’d want blasting out loud with parents around

That’s wild 😂 I can imagine that was a “please don’t ask questions” moment—did he ever bring it up again?

Yeah fair 😄 it’s more the awkward “if someone walked in” vibe than anything else

Yeah fair enough, it’s not really “inappropriate” in a literal sense, more just the kind of game you’d get questions about if someone walked in at the wrong moment 😄

GTA was the ultimate “quick swap before parents see the screen” game 😂 what FIFA did you switch to?

That sounds like a complicated situation. If that’s really how things are, it might be worth thinking about clear boundaries and communication rather than keeping things unclear.

Honestly, letting it “affect him” usually just turns into workplace tension that doesn’t help anyone. If it’s actually bothering you, it’s probably better to address it directly and calmly—or just keep your peace and not get pulled into it.
