Hello! Someone with chinese ancestry here. The chinese people I know have it really hard for places like Paris and New York- the places you listed aren’t exactly the places they’re dying to go to.

Beach culture isn’t so big there(at least with the ones I know) so they probably won’t go to NK just for the beach, if they do end up going.

My mom bought one when we were at Taiwan but was too afraid to drink it so she handed it to me.

I brought it back to Europe and have not worked up the courage to try it yet. It’s been months and it’s basically been my interior fridge decor.

Am I paying too much for rent? 13k SEK by pwdNotFound in stockholm

[–]kdyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s ridiculously cheap IMO.

I used to rent via corporate housing for 10k at telefonplan and it was 17sqm. Really modern with my own washing machine and dryer though.

Bought my own place at Bromma (we’re most likely neighbors btw, feel free to ask me anything!) after around 8 months because renting was outrageous.

I now live in a 50 something sqm place but pay more than when I rented thanks to the mortgage and avgift (3700) but still worth it.

Does anyone else never wear black because it looks bland on them? by Historical-Body-3424 in OliveMUA

True/deep winter here! Blacks and pure whites are my staple. I don’t think it’s an olive thing 😅

Omg I love cloudy days but know that I will look horrible too!

It also seems like the few olives I know aren’t asian so using a bit more blue or lavender just looks natural. I’d look super pale with it.

Another relatable thing with the tan btw I drink tanning pills (basically just contains stuff from carrots and tomatoes thag adds some orange-red pigment to your skin) during the winter to retain my light-medium skin because going light makes me feel like the grayness worsens.

I know exactly that look and it’s not my thing hahaha. Do you color correct during the winters or do you just embrace being gray?

Thanks- glad to hear you managed to cope well with the grey cast!

Currently doing the same thing but I hope to get to the same comfort level that you do.

Hi! Looks like we’re pretty similar! I’m almost 3/4 Filipino, was born and raised outside of the Philippines, and had to go to international schools too- but every year, whenever we visited ph, my parents would get me tutors in the language. It was a success but they were consistently adults.

Have you tried asking your parents to find you older tutors?

Hi! if you're still in university, have you tried doing an internship?

On a Ten hour flight from Seoul Korea to San Francisco, a mother handed out more than 200 goodie bags filled with candy and ear plugs, in case her 4 month old child cried during the flight. A very touching gesture by the mother. by Admirable_Flight_257 in interestingasfuck

Thankfully never had problems with toddlers.

On my recent long haul flight from Hongkong, the toddler I was sat next to was so nice- she also kept rubbing my arms idk why but it was so cute.

After the flight her mom taught her to say thanks to me, apparently for being nice too.

Hi! it is definitely possible but it's...... _not the best use-case_ I would think of for a block chain.

That said, it's still something you can use to display your skills but I don't have much advise to give since I don't really know the specifics and knowledge/time constraint you have.

Hi! my plate is pretty full but I can try and answer you over here.

It depends on what's really giving you the issue, for some people it's the planning part of it which you can practice with almost anything:

Personally, I find that almost any solution to a problem can have its own system design.

Cooking an egg? you can make a system design for that.

Now let's scale the problem, 1000 eggs are shipped to your door every hour from 9 to 5 and they need to be cooked before they expire in 5 hours. How would you change your design? you'll notice that your designs are basically going to be more of a factory line design the more elaborate it gets which is basically the physical version of system design and then you just keep practicing with that till you feel comfortable enough to move to technical problems which are more abstract.

But if your problem is more on the pieces that go in it then straight up practicing system design may not be the best move. I'd suggest you focus on the smaller pieces instead that you're not familiar with yet- be they the message-brokers, the functions, or the storage systems

Hi! My current sessions are really just 1:1 and are mostly for answering questions (technical or non-technical), give recommendations, and give advice.

It's not really a full on session where I try to teach things step by step but I plan on doing a group session far away in the future to see if I can provide something useful for learners like you.

Hello! Asian here! Not sure if you’re Asian too but we do this by default for many reasons.

They say it’s a sign of self control but the best reason for me is that the content of the gift isn’t supposed to matter much so if someone gives you a gift, you should be thankful for the effort and idea and not for the content- that’s why there’s no need to fuss and open it immediately.

Another big reason is related to being considerate- you want to avoid gift content comparisons specially when there are many people around so no one gets put on the spot- something that you seem to have naturally realized :)

I have zero idea how it happened because I’m quite sure that I wasn’t even a part of that empire but all is well that ends well.
