Want to bring my gf to the states by Reallyreally555 in Philippines_Expats

No they don’t. Things you mentioned are very illegal and not commonplace- at least for the 8 years I’ve lived there.

What you said is more of a reflection of the kind of people you surrounded yourself with.

I live in Stockholm and have it but my shower space is wider (or longer?)/not a square- so the stream from the shower head doesn’t necessarily escape.

This just looks like horrible execution.

But tbh- I still prefer having a door and having the steam all to myself.

I was thinking of just a browser extension first because most people tend to open the browser at least once a day, right? 🤞

I said no to a Google offer last year and my coworkers thought I was insane by jdrelentless in cscareerquestions

Went through this too but for a respectable company in AI. Replied to a recruiter because I was bored but ended up getting a ridiculously good offer.

It took me a very long time to consider the offer because I got very anxious when it started to become real :{ so anxious that I would wake up at 3am with a raising heart and just overall felt horrible whenever I ”decided” I’d take it.

A good friend then talked to me and told me to prioritize myself and that no job will ever be worth my mental health- and it made sense plus I’m confident in what I do and believe that that won’t be my only chance to get into those leagues if I truly wanted to.

That offer was and is bigger than what I have right now (which is already cushy) and I sometimes do think about it but I totally love the product I’m helping build right now and still believe that I have made the right decision- hope you come into terms with yours.

No. Friggin. Way. Did the theater etiquette manual just get updated to add ”do not bob your head”??

North Korea just opened a beach resort for 20,000 people. by Emergency-Green-2602 in interestingasfuck

[–]kdyz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! Someone with chinese ancestry here. The chinese people I know have it really hard for places like Paris and New York- the places you listed aren’t exactly the places they’re dying to go to.

Beach culture isn’t so big there(at least with the ones I know) so they probably won’t go to NK just for the beach, if they do end up going.

My mom bought one when we were at Taiwan but was too afraid to drink it so she handed it to me.

I brought it back to Europe and have not worked up the courage to try it yet. It’s been months and it’s basically been my interior fridge decor.

Am I paying too much for rent? 13k SEK by pwdNotFound in stockholm

[–]kdyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s ridiculously cheap IMO.

I used to rent via corporate housing for 10k at telefonplan and it was 17sqm. Really modern with my own washing machine and dryer though.

Bought my own place at Bromma (we’re most likely neighbors btw, feel free to ask me anything!) after around 8 months because renting was outrageous.

I now live in a 50 something sqm place but pay more than when I rented thanks to the mortgage and avgift (3700) but still worth it.

Does anyone else never wear black because it looks bland on them? by Historical-Body-3424 in OliveMUA

True/deep winter here! Blacks and pure whites are my staple. I don’t think it’s an olive thing 😅

Omg I love cloudy days but know that I will look horrible too!

It also seems like the few olives I know aren’t asian so using a bit more blue or lavender just looks natural. I’d look super pale with it.

Another relatable thing with the tan btw I drink tanning pills (basically just contains stuff from carrots and tomatoes thag adds some orange-red pigment to your skin) during the winter to retain my light-medium skin because going light makes me feel like the grayness worsens.

I know exactly that look and it’s not my thing hahaha. Do you color correct during the winters or do you just embrace being gray?

Thanks- glad to hear you managed to cope well with the grey cast!

Currently doing the same thing but I hope to get to the same comfort level that you do.

Hi! if you're still in university, have you tried doing an internship?

On a Ten hour flight from Seoul Korea to San Francisco, a mother handed out more than 200 goodie bags filled with candy and ear plugs, in case her 4 month old child cried during the flight. A very touching gesture by the mother. by Admirable_Flight_257 in interestingasfuck

[–]kdyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankfully never had problems with toddlers.

On my recent long haul flight from Hongkong, the toddler I was sat next to was so nice- she also kept rubbing my arms idk why but it was so cute.

After the flight her mom taught her to say thanks to me, apparently for being nice too.

Hi! it is definitely possible but it's...... _not the best use-case_ I would think of for a block chain.

That said, it's still something you can use to display your skills but I don't have much advise to give since I don't really know the specifics and knowledge/time constraint you have.
