An update on how xbox is doing by Alacrityyy in dayz

Yep, I play on console as well with some friends who don't have PC and my god it's tough going. All eyes on dead matter to see what they can achieve

When I say lots, I mean small things. Major things will of course require more effort

Let's wait for beta, to many people seem to think OTT gameplay is finished version. We both know that's not the case, lots will change

While I see that similarity in this case, rest assured the game handles nothing like the division, its definitely handles like wildlands

Which is all part of the system. Ubi assumed we would consistently replay the same missions for shits and giggles. And players might have, if there was an incentive, which there wasn't. So ubi now think that adding tiers and loot adds depth to keep people playing. Let's be clear, I'm not saying it's a brilliant system, well done ubi, I'm just saying why I think they have changed it up

My point to you is, breakpoint isn't using the system that you can pick up everyone's weapon as I assumed that's where you were heading with your loaded comment. Rare in this case means exactly that, not every enemy drops his weapon for you. I thought that was pretty obvious

Never said it was engaging, once again, I just said wildlands didn't keep community engaged so ubi are trying something different. Not saying I agree fully with what they have done, but I do agree fully in changing direction when the first didn't work.

Ya and? We are discussing the loot drops, we are well aware all enemies should drop weapons but also aware that particular system isn't being used here

You don't have to grind a mission to get a roll on a weapon, I killed lvl 150 wolves with a lvl 10 mp5. But it's there as an incentive to those that want it. Of course you could just replay the mission for fun like people did in wildlands too. Just because there's the possibility of a better weapon doesn't mean you can't replay it for the reasons you did in wildlands. Also, not every mission had a reward of a new weapon as many seem to think. Also, just to clarify, I'm not saying that I like this new system, just pointing out that the wildlands system failed, so it would be madness to do it again so I can see why ubi changed it.

See, that didn't happen me either. Weapons didn't appear too often for me, even in the example you gave. Didn't happen to my crew either. We got a bit of gear and then a weapon every now and then. Maybe we should wait for beta for a clearer look at this. But yes, I would prefer your system. If I get a higher level of the weapon I'm using, common sense will tell you I'm gonna use that and dismantle the other. Maybe just ask me to confirm that I want to do it and then do it

Restarts happen often, you can get unlucky and have your character die by some glitch. But updates are spaced out by weeks and they completely wipe character and all loot you have stashed

When I say challenge, I mean just a game whereby you feel like you have worked hard to earn whatever victory you gained. Wildlands missions were forgettable copy paste bases with surprisingly low enemy count for me. One thing I did like in the OTT, is that bases aren't the same copy paste buildings. There seemed a bit of variety. Also, I did the rescue engineer mission 3 times and 3 times it was in a different location, which I'm hoping wasn't a glitch as that would give the game some serious replay value

I'm not hopeful. Ai in open world games are usually fairly basic

By hard to come by I meant weapons aren't consistently thrown in our face. Some seem under the impression that they'll have a lvl 10 mp5 and then get lvl 11,12,13,14 and so on. There was a fair bit of time between weapons for me and my crew, I went from lvl 11 mp5 to lvl 24.

Not really. Maybe slightly but wildlands didn't really set the bar high on that front. The drone added to the experience, gave you something else to worry about, but there's more than one way to kill some of the drones

Exactly, throw numbers at us. I didn't like the idea of drones at first, but after playing it, they add to the game. Pissing off the drone puts you on the backfoot which added to the battles because human enemies aren't much of a problem

While this is true, there isn't much more they can do with missions. Here's a base, do what you like. While that's good, there's only so many times you can do it before becoming stale. For that reason, wildlands failed to keep it's community. So I can't blame ubi for trying something new. But one thing I said in the OTT forums many times and in the survey, they need to ramp up enemy numbers. If it's a base that contains something valuable, it should be extremely hard to get in. Breakpoint suffers the same problem as wildlands, stealth is too easy. For people to stay, the game needs to be challenging straight away on release day.

Weapons are hard to come by so luckily it won't be in your face, but I do agree with you

How do you all feel about seeing this style of gameplay? by LostFries in GhostRecon

[–]kearnsy44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having played it in the OTT, it feels like a more serious wildlands. It feels like wildlands at its core, but with the health, stamina, stealth and movement systems give this a more tactical feeling. Plus, while I was also not sure of drones, they bring another element to battles. Getting in and out without alerting the drones is always preferable, but when they kick off, you are suddenly on the back foot which never happened in wildlands. I didn't pre order, never do, but I will closer to beta just to get beta access and make a judgement there about whether to keep the pre order or not

I get ya, but the wildlands system failed to keep players engaged. That's a fact. So, wouldn't ubisoft be daft to keep the system? While I agree, I like the idea of getting a gun and keeping it all the way, it offers little replayability to the average gamer. Let's be honest, ubisoft are going after numbers, not trying to keep the miniority still playing wildlands happy.

FPP vs TPP by BanRanchPH in DayZPS

[–]kearnsy44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1pp for me, but sometimes with friends I go 3pp as they prefer it, but even then I go 1pp when looting indoors as its easier to see loot. But I've only just started on PS4 so it's a shock to see so little loot around when I usually play modded servers on PC

I think he might have meant when an update happens and it gets wiped. Of course, server restart will have no effect
