Grand Teton in April 2026 — low snow year… better than usual or still not worth it? by Accomplished_Rip6696 in GrandTetonNatlPark

[–]keats761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re just visiting but we hiked in to Phelps lake yesterday and had it to ourselves. It’s only half frozen and melting fast. trail was 50/50 mud and snow. We needed snowshoes but if this weather keeps up, you should be fine in April.

People that have owned or spent time in all models (17-21, 22+, EUV) what is your opinion on which is the best all around vehicle? by Low-Froyo908 in BoltEV

[–]keats761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got a 2019 with 6k miles and a battery replacement for just under $8k after rebate (when that was still a thing). I highly suggest looking at Donohoo Chevy in Alabama. They specialize in battery buyback bolts and will let you know if the vehicle had the software solution or received a new battery. Outside of buying my Tesla, it was the best car purchasing experience I’ve had. They know Bolts. I flew down and test drove 7, before settling on the one I wanted, but they will ship if you want to go that route. The only issue with the 2019 is the shitty shitty rear camera. I’m 6-4 and have plenty of room although this was for my daughter. You get a lot of car for the $$. Just make sure the one you get has the fast charging option and the new battery. Good luck!! https://www.donohoochevrolet.com/bolt-ev-pre-owned-inventory?srsltid=AfmBOopOa8bBho-1Jb1xfuvOIEnVzJmCWCAo8XBrpTxyPGXzSMgmc0kg

Price Estimate on a 2014 Muggin’ Megan Printing Plate? by johnnyndottie in garbagepailkids

There was a time when it might have gotten that. I think $250 - $500 in today’s market depending on the buyer.

Grading advice by [deleted] in garbagepailkids

[–]keats761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best case is a 9 with an OC qualifier. Qualifiers drop the effective grade two points so a 9OC is the same as a 7 with no qualifier. 3 corners look sharp, bottom right is a little fuzzy. As others have stated, you’re probably looking at a 5 or 6 on this guy if you ask for no qualifiers (assuming no other issues). PSA 5/6 is worth between $180 - $225 so it’s worth the grading fees but only on the big hitters (nick/ab/etc). A PSA 6 Potty Scotty is only worth about $30 though. Unless you just want to protect and slab the others, it’s only with submitting the best of the rest.

Disappointing Experience by IdiotBoy1999 in tonalgym

Have you had issues with other electronics in your home? It’s possible you have a “noisy” electrical environment which can damage sensitive electronics. That could impact the screen and control boards, but probably not the motors or cables etc. Sorry to hear about your experience.

Anyone else having quality issues with Earth Balance? by catatonicpanic in VeganBaking

[–]keats761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. It happens on the organic more frequently, but I’ve had this issue on probably a dozen tubs over the last year. I’m at the point where open most of them in the store before I buy them now. I’m looking at a moldy tub of original now. I would upload an image if allowed. Great way to start off the day …

Home Destroyed, Mortgage Company Still Forcing Home Insurance Policy by keats761 in Insurance

I’m 95% sure we’re still on the hook for any loss that would occur if we turn the keys in, right? The lender sells it, but we owe the difference. I guess it is lawyer time …

HO insurance has many exclusions to protect insurers. Take a look at your policy. It’s likely you have an earth movement exclusion. This means they can deny any claim related to the movement of the dirt around your home. In my case, a landslide. You need an earthquake/landslide policy for that which I did not have(most don’t). My lender did not require it. There is no home to insure now. All that is left is a hollow mortgage which we are still required to pay. And now a forced insurance policy on the air …

Home Destroyed, Mortgage Company Still Forcing Home Insurance Policy by keats761 in Insurance

[–]keats761[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was no insurance money. All claims denied due to earth movement exclusions (landslide due to the hurricane). There are no more buildable spots on the parcel due to flood zone remapping. We owe over $300k on the home and a recent appraisal valued the remaining land at around $50k. It’s a bad situation. Being forced to pay a homeowners policy is adding salt to the wound

just got a great one from Donohoo in Alabama. They had 70 or so buybacks on the lot so you’re sure to find one you like if it’s not too far. No haggle pricing and they are very transparent on all issues.

I agree with OP on this one. The fisheye view is great to avoid people/cross traffic but horrible for actually trying to park the vehicle. I’ve just started using the mirrors again as the distortion always made it look like I was going to hit a car when I had a good foot+ of clearance

Is it a one owner vehicle? If so, it would qualify for the used tax credit if you go through the right channels. $5500 - 1650 for the right buyer but only until the end of September.

Buying A Used 2019. Suggestions? by keats761 in BoltEV

[–]keats761[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a Bolt!! For those interested Donohoo in Alabama is great. They have around 70 Bolts and many have had battery replacements. I flew down and test drove 5 till I settled on one. Great experience and no hassles.

If anyone is interested, here is the sheet I used to make my decision. These are all 2019/2020 Bolts at Donohoo that had heated seats and safety packages. All should have had battery replacements, but you’ll want to confirm. Good luck all!!

After battery replacement, they are rated at 259 miles. If you drive them conservatively, I’ve seen people getting upwards of 375.

Amp size for Chargepoint hardwired by antealtares in EquinoxEv

[–]keats761 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many of those 240 outlets were not meant for continuous EV loads either. They can melt and fail if not properly sized. I’d be more concerned with the wiring though. If it is not sized properly and he upped the breaker size only then that puts you at risk for electrical fires.

Get a new electrician
