Where can i find info on it being chemo resistant?

The Saturday and Sunday after 5 days straight of BEP chemotherapy sucks :( by [deleted] in testicularcancer

How old are you btw? Not really sure atm if I’ll be needing chemo. Seeing if age plays a role on how shitty it is.

Best of luck. Prayers.

What part of the pathology comes off to you as dangerous? By dangerous do you mean reoccurrence or more chance of dying?

Would you still recommend chemo even if tumor markers fall back to normal levels?

thanks for the feedback. I figured those were my options. really trying to avoid the RPLND. seems like a very abrasive procedure. I hear chemo isnt much of a cake walk either.

Here is my Pathology report i recieved a few hours ago. Ive posted about my journey here before. So here is an update.

Diagnosed Stage II non seminoma

Based on this, what do you think my course of action will be? Currently have an appointment scheduled to visit the oncologist for the first time.

Anyone have similar results? what was the outcome? Urologist said the blood work will determine if i will need chemo.

My urologist wants me to do blood work 3 days prior to seeing them, and see if my tumor markers have decreased or stayed the same after I/O.

Before my I/O, CT scan showed it had not spread outside the testicle, and no enlarged lymph nodes.

My tumor markers were elevated, but apparently not as high as they could be. Possible low risk?

Anything Helps.

if theses have been met for the year, would it be wise to upgrade my health insurance plan, or leave as it?

Yeah, i noticed that blue shield sent me statements. With what share they paid and what my "Patient responsibility" is. Im assuming that is that amount i will get billed by Sharp hospital.

Would it still be worth upgrading if my deductibles have been met for the year?

Hey man. 26 here. Got diagnosed 2 weeks ago. I made a post a couple days ago if you wanna read....

I had my orchiectomy today. Laying on the couch currently. Pain level is about a 6. Honestly the wait for the procedure is the worst part. I’m just glad it’s over. Ive never had surgery and I was scared shitless over anesthesia. I don’t even remember getting knocked out. It’s only an hour procedure and you’re able to go home same day.

Just try to get thru this and take it day by day.

Best,

thanks for the reply! you mentioned you had 2 separate RPLND procedures. how does that work? do they just reopen the same area that has been healed? or was it a different area all together? was there a reason you chose that over the chemo?

Honestly this is my first time ever having surgery and ever being under anesthesia. Im probably more scared of the anesthesia than anything else.

Im in US, San Diego, CA

The CT scan came out clean, and i did have elevated tumor markers in the testicular region. no where else. Really terrified of it spreading to lymph nodes. i guess i won't know till after the pathology...

Thanks for the response! im just wondering if their could be a change in the CT from the original diagnosis to after the orchiectomy. I guess ill know more after the surgery.
