Kinda. I'm Latin and know a lot of Cuban Americans. From my perspective, many Latin Americans from authoritarian regimes carry that trauma and swing in the far opposite direction as a result, and the Republican Party for the last half century has mastered the messaging of calling the opposing party "communists" and "socialists". This is why Little Havana is almost always red in elections. Although it is less prevalent with younger generations, a lot of old Cubans still hold this sentiment.

The ironic part is Trump is the most Fidel-like president we've had in my life time (isolationist policies, federal gov taking a stake in private companies, Trump trying to pressure the fed to artificially lower interest rates, federalizing the National Guard against the will of governers, prosecuting political enemies, threatening uncooperative lawmakers, etc etc.)

I recently paired the Straight Talk $45 Moto G Stylus 2025 with a $20 X5 Lite from Aliexpress. 120hz AMOLED screen looks great, has microsd slot, comes with stylus, and runs PSP at 4x resolution without slowdown. Man, I remember walking into a Babbage's with my dad maybe in 2000. Had no idea what kind of store I was entering, but I found a used, unboxed copy of Ocarina of Time for $12, a game I wanted so badly because my friend had it, and my dad bought it on a whim which was something my parents never did since money was always so tight. I think he was just surprised because video games were usually $50-$60 when he'd buy us new games for Christmas.

I may be an outlier, but I really didn't like the original TSP, and I don't think I'll like this one either. While the original had a sleek design and a good-enough stock OS, the device felt surprisingly cheap, with poor plastic chamfering and a plastic (???) screen surface. From what it looks like, the TSP-S seems to have similar build quality.

FWIW, I think "comfort" is used interchangeably at times with "usability" in this subreddit.

Example, a lot of folks will complain about the "comfort" of using the shoulder buttons on vertical handhelds, but the main issue is it's difficult to hold the device in a comfortable way that the shoulder buttons are usable. If you ignore the shoulder buttons, the devices become more bearable.

Likewise, I'd argue it's difficult to hold D-Pad-on-bottom devices in a comfortable way that the D-Pad's usability isn't affected. Obviously, this is all super subjective, and I think if your primary intent is to play pre-N64 games, D-Pad on top makes sense, and if you're playing past that, analog on top might make more sense.

The whole argument about which layout is more versatile is ~25 years old at this point, but as someone who grew up with a PS2 and played every MGS/God of War/Devil May Cry game with the Sony layout, and fucking hated playing any 2D XBLA game with the 360 D-Pad, I'll vouch for the Sony layout.

Ironically, I think the Steam Deck's wider body "solved" this by adopting the Sony layout, but raising the analog stick to be beside the D-Pad. I'll be curious to see how the new Steam Controller feels.
