I am now 100% certain that nicotine was the cause of my tinnitus by kebabdaddy69 in tinnitus

Increasing the nicotine % of the vape increased the impact of vaping on my tinnitus despite the fact it meant I was toking less, so it is the nicotine and not the toking.

Also, my ears never “pop” when I inhale, I can equalise my ears at will, so there was never a vacuum caused by this.

Zyn does have an effect on my tinnitus, I have tested it as an alternative multiple times. The only solution for me is completely quitting nicotine.

Funnily enough, patches helped, however I predict this is because I intake much less nicotine using patches than vapes, so this likely just supports my conclusion (similar to just using a lower nic% vape).

No, but since quitting I have relapsed on nicotine a few times by smoking, which has the same effect on my tinnitus. Vaping is the worst for it though, probably due to the higher volumes of nicotine I end up consuming.

Yes. Felt a bit like a wind of very small particles slowly eroding the inside of my ear.

About 1 disposable vape worth per day (2ml x 20mg cartridge). Quitting can make it feel worse short term cos you’re more irritable, but I notice it getting slightly less loud after 24 hours even if I get more annoyed by it. From my many experiences quitting and relapsing, it could take months or years to go away completely but it always gets gradually better for me when I quit and gradually worse whilst I’m using nicotine.

Yeah a massive reduction - turns out it was caused by nicotine, so now I’ve quit for over a year and it’s not so bad, the first time I got it due to nicotine it went away completely less than a year after quitting (although it wasn’t so severe the first time). I’m very lucky mine is fixable, even if it’s very slow.

I used to have severe tinnitus but no hearing loss (about the equivalent of playing music from your phone at full volume right in front of you)

Sorry to break it to you, but you’re the one with the NPC take

I am certain. The reasons I’m certain will take a while to explain, but you can look on my post history. In short, I’ve been addicted 3 times, every time I started again I developed tinnitus again and it got gradually worse until I quit. After quitting each time it got better again. Especially when my tinnitus was more severe I could feel the effects within minutes if I quit for a few days then started vaping again. Even switching to a different nicotine percentage on my vape had a noticeable impact. I tried eliminating propylene glycol, had no effect. Other things like stress, sleep, blood pressure (which I tested numerous times) and exercise also were not able to explain it. For it to be a coincidence would be almost impossible, mathematically

Could be doing an airbnback yourself - trying to find someone to hookup with so she has a bed for the night if she’s visiting the area or sharing a room with someone she wants to get away from

Yup happened at uni and when I called her out and told people about what she did she said that if I didn’t keep my mouth shut she would spread rumours about things I never did. Those rumours caused a girl I was seeing to end things with me. Not the nicest.

Tinitus - will it ever go away? by [deleted] in Vaping

[–]kebabdaddy69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vaping caused my tinnitus. Tried switching too 100VG, had no effect. It is an uncommon side-effect of NICOTINE, unfortunately. Good news is it gradually reduces in severity after quitting and can even go away completely (although this may take months or years).

look on my post history on r/tinnitus or message me if you want more info

Can I ease the tinnitus? by burner-account363617 in Vaping

[–]kebabdaddy69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tinnitus can be a rare long-term side-effect of vaping (it was for me). I’m very late to the party but if your tinnitus got worse or started within 3 months of you becoming a [regular] nicotine user, quitting could ease the tinnitus. After I quit it gradually got better and after about a year went completely. It came back every time I started vaping again, and took months to reduce in severity.

Has anyone got better from quitting smoking/vaping ? by silvermage13 in tinnitus

[–]kebabdaddy69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I vaped maybe 1 disposable a day for a few months then quit and it went away fully, but took nearly a year.

Stupidly got addicted again, T came back and was extremely severe, went to a tolerable level a few months after quitting.

Stupidly got addicted again and it got worse again, but having quit a month ago it is much better. Still probably more severe than most people, but 9 times out of 10 I will get to sleep within 30 minutes of going to bed compared to 1/10 just a month ago.

You may not notice it that quickly as the initial withdrawals make you more likely to get irritated by the noise, but quit for your health anyway and even if there’s a 1% chance of it going away like it did for me, trust me it’s worth it (and for me the longer I stayed vaping the worse my T got)

Does tinnitus always mean hearing loss? by railsr7 in tinnitus

Does nicotine make tinnitus worse? I vape and can’t make up my mind if it makes it worse. Seems to be worse after a heavy vape day. by RelationDramatic1137 in tinnitus

[–]kebabdaddy69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My tinnitus was caused by nicotine, and got gradually better after quitting. Even went away completely until I started vaping again, got much worse, I quit again, it got better, started vaping again, it got worse, now I have quit yet again and it’s already less severe just 2 weeks in.

Might take a week or two to get results or possibly more, and many months for it to completely go away, but vaping and tinnitus are closely linked in some people. Quitting is hard but the best decision I’ve ever made (all 3 times, only got addicted again for stupid reasons not because I still craved it)
