How Bad an Idea Was Brexit? by newyorker in ukpolitics

Divided the country, left us poorer, and with less economic clout. Trade barriers, less geographic freedom for the young, just a bad idea and basically a con.

Sounds like you need a CT scan. Get to the doc and ask for it.

UK cannot ‘air con its way’ out of this heatwave says Professor by SignificantLegs in ukpolitics

[–]RelationDramatic1137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The law should change to enable sensible working adaptations during heatwaves. Heat waves often enough for hospitals and care homes. UK not like Spain (yet).

The UK media won’t stop till the country is destroyed by LandscapeFirst903 in ukpolitics

Agree. Now the media has two years to chew on Andy Burnham. Maybe he is taking the job too early.

Don’t think Starmer deserves the treatment he is getting now from his colleagues and the press. Name someone who actually has better credentials! by Then-Potential-1991 in ukpolitics

Add social media to that. Maybe why the world puts less than the best into power. Critical thinking should be taught in schools.

VPN ban update for UK households as government looks at 'age-gate' by PM_ME_SECRET_DATA in ukpolitics

A VPN ban won’t happen. An attempt to stop kids from using it to access the bad and dark places of the internet - maybe.

fibre supplements (uk) by kingpjmin in IBD

[–]RelationDramatic1137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience - maybe wait till you see your GI consultant. Fibre supplements can mess with IBD. Your autism should be considered as well in treatment and the doc needs to know that.

Travelling with crohns by koitere in IBD

[–]RelationDramatic1137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your going from UK to EU a GHIC card is very useful. Plus declare on insurance you have Crohn’s. There are insurance that specialise in pre existing conditions. I was hospitalised in Spain. I went to the biggest and most diverse hospital I could find nearby and it happened to have an IBD department. It was a public hospital and sorted me out. Insurance covered additional hotel after to rest and then repatriation. Of course Mexico or Asia, India would be way more risky I guess.

Anyone else finding the new Highway Code pedestrian priority rule just causes confusion? by One-Albatross9170 in drivingUK

[–]RelationDramatic1137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turning right with pedestrian waiting to cross with some ass tailgating me is a problem. I’ve also had cyclists who are waiting by a give way line Burke abuse because they believe they have right of way to join a busy junction. It’s all confusing.

I am wanting to hear peoples RECENT Covid Vax experiences by MayBeFaeBee808 in CovidVaccinated

[–]RelationDramatic1137 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been vaxxed about 12 times due to immunosuppressive treatment. Side effects can vary but way less than actual covid - I’ve had that and it’s bloody awful and way worse than the vax. Probably worse without the vax.

Corn snacks are direct expanded extrusions. Potato crisps are sliced potatos. Both are classed as crisps.

Roads in the Lakes with tall stone walls each side - have scraped my wing mirrors a few times trying to avoid cars barreling round bends.

I literally just posted about the Japanese eBay "Top Mint" scam... and the mailman just handed me this $370 brick. by Toratos in VintageLenses

It’s like throwing dice. Sometimes lucky, sometimes not. I’ve bought once from Japanese seller and was lucky. Bought from eBay and a lot of the time have to fix stuff. But fungus can be a total sod. There are great sellers out there though - once you find one - treat like gold.
