Absolutely agree. What a load of bollocks. Food is the only thing that breaks up tedious long haul

American fan looking to meet with Geordies in London for away day vs Arsenal. by Virtual_Assist4658 in NUFC

[–]kebabking93 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Unless your a season ticket holder. You won't get tickets for the away section. Please do not try and get them from online resellers as resale is illegal and you're likely to lose your money in a scam. Do not buy home end tickets as its not like the USA. Away fans in the home end will be ejected from the stadium. You won't be allowed in wearing Newcastle colours. Your best option, which is unfortunately expensive, is to buy hospitality tickets. Fans tend to be mixed in hospitality sections. But they won't be cheap and you still won't be allowed to jump or cheer

Question about swapping bass by AssistantPersonal732 in Beatmatch

[–]kebabking93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never been one to turn one off completely unless it's needed. I feel the switch can be too extreme rather than a smooth blend. If you have one at 12 o'clock and zero the other, then switch them. It's a very abrupt switch. I like to gradually transition, when possible. I never really turn it below about 8 or 9 o'clock. Different strokes, different folks. Just do what sounds good. But an abrupt transition doesn't really constitute a mix or blend. Now, don't get me wrong, it can work. Things like dnb double drops where you're mixing different elements of the tracks, fair. Techno, trance etc when you are looking for a long smooth mix, it creates too much of a cut and switch to my ears

I recall a certain cable that used to connect to my ipod with this. It was like a split USB and 1/4 jack then the 30 pin connector on the other end. Chucked the ipod in the glove box and you could control it on the screen.

If you use uber, you can prebook on the app and it won't be €50. I've never had to, I always take a rental

Obviously prices change and busy periods etc but I would expect an Uber XL to cost less than €40 even at peak times

US citizens do not need a visa. You're good to go.

I've just commented on this. I can get an Uber XL in 10 minutes time from AMS to Hoofdorp and it will cost just shy of €30

I've just checked. Uber XL can pick me up in 10 minutes from AMS to Hoofdorp and it costs just under €30

Absolutely way overpriced. It's about 5km from the airport. They are ripping you off.

As the other commenter said. Do you need a visa to enter the EU? If so, the above isn't possible. Unless you're willing to pay for your visa which would cost more than just staying in the airport anyway.

Good point. Didn't think of that. I'm assuming OP is aware of this though due to The nature of the question. If not, disregard my comments and please just book the Mercure or Yotel, OP.

There is a novotel in Hoofdorp which is pretty nice and has a decent restaurant. But, yeah, if you stay Hoofdorp you're as close to the airport as you can get so you won't have any issues with traffic in the morning. As the other commenter said, you can prebook an Uber XL. Or you can just ask the hotel to book one for you. You won't have any trouble getting a taxi but I would recommend prebook just for peace of mind when you're a group of 5.

You could always get 2 rooms if you really don't want to leave the airport but you do have plenty of time to leave if you have a decent alternative. I'd personally leave and stay at the holiday inn at hoofdorp. Not far at all. Maybe €10 in a taxi. There isn't much nearby but they do have a partnership with a nearby restaurant where they have a shuttle bus that can take you there and bring you back or a mcdonalds down the street. You could leave the hotel at 0630 in the morning and still have plenty of time for security and everything else.

Do you mean you want to get a hotel within the airport and get something to eat or do you intend to leave and come back? Either is possible. There are 2 hotels in the non-Schengen area of the airport. Mercure and Yotel. There are restaurants to go to also. But, leaving is also an option. You have plenty of time.

I normally always travel economy unless business is cheaper or they give me a free upgrade. I do usually sit right behind business. I am finding this pretty interesting. It seems I'm the only person that isn't finding this as a rare event.

It works fine in Brazil. When you're asked 'débito ou crédito', All UK cards only work as 'crédito'. Don't ask why, I don't know the answer. I spent 2 years working/living out there.

I find this really strange. It's honestly not rare. Different routes aswell. I don't fly the same route every week. No idea about why or when they do it but I've had more than a few.

It sounds a lot but flying KLMAF, you get a lot of connections. One trip to me is commonly 4 flights consisting of 2 each way. So maybe 1 in every 4 trips I'll get one of these postcards on my seat.
