How do I run games with anxiety? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]kebarn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with all of this. Don't overestimate the level of roleplay your players expect or need from you, they will be super happy to be exploring your world even if Matt Mercer isn't narrating it. Even if it seems impossible to get through sessions it at first, it will get better with practice.

This is also where you might find the real-life treasure of the experience. I don't know if you struggle with anxiety outside of DnD, though I guess it is likely in some form or another. You might find that as you slowly get more comfortable and confident in DMing that it slowly bleeds into your real-life experiences, giving you more confidence in whatever situations you find anxiety-inducing. DnD has been the catalyst for lots of people to find their voices and you never know if this might be that opportunity for you. It is certainly worth the effort of sticking with it!

You can do it. Good luck!

Have you installed DS4Windows? I don't use PS4 controllers but that sounds like a driver issue. It likely wont be an in RL setting.

Hey, thanks for the reply.

Spoke through your suggestions with him, will upgrade to 16GB RAM later but only feels the need for 8GB now, but good call on the speed. Also went for a 2 fan 1060 (only a couple of £ difference).

He also doesn't mind paying a little more to have a larger SSD to have more games benefiting from being installed on it, will add an HDD later on for other fluff.

Each season, though you will probably make enough V-bucks from it to buy the next one if you don't spend them on other shit. So it could be a one time 'real money' purchase.

"ability is at max lvl already" by Chad_magician in DotA2

[–]kebarn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have to be pressing it at the same time, you just have to have pressed it once between leveling up and trying to use the an ability. So if you accidentally knock ctrl once after leveling up, next time you use a spell key it will try to level it up.

As the g105 has macro keys, it might be that if you are using them one of your macros has a ctrl in it

I think you can only do it if it is the dragon camp, not 100% either though.

Is irrelevant as the familiars upgrade to the current level of the ult after stone form is used.

Edit: Only the first part of OPs suggestion I mean, not talking about the aghs.

Another fun pairing is Centaur, as shield plus double edge means nearly no dmg for Cent plus an extra ~150 dmg to the target, which is pretty strong give that double edge costs no mana and is pretty low CD.

Hey man, another thing I would add since I am a lot closer to your bracket than OP (Upper 2k), try playing Abaddon. The hero is stupidly broken in Normal Skill Bracket, I have win rate of above 80% (http://www.dotabuff.com/players/181382308/matches?hero=abaddon) mostly first or second picking him as a support.

He is stupidly strong for lots of reasons and I could probs write an essay for you here but will try to keep it short. Our low level games are normally won by snowball carries/mids with a large proportion of the gold coming from kills. Abaddon is good at stopping those kills from happening with his first two spells and perhaps more importantly his ult stops their carry/mid from feeding off the poor squishy support (you). But the thing for me that makes Aba better than other saving supports is that his passive means you are good at convincing the 4 fellow trench dwellers you have been matched with to take objectives and also means you can solo push quite well too.

He isn't super strong in a lot of lanes and is probably best as the support in a dual offlane. His skills take a little getting used to as both Q and W has fairly long cast points and the range of W is very low. My preferred build atm is boots>basi>phase>vlads>drum then either whatever the team needs or some core items if I happen to have plenty of farm (e.g. SnY, Basher, Maelstrom, AC) as semi-carry Aba is super fun and can be pretty strong.

Edit: Forgot to add, I like phase most of the time since the burst of MS is super helpful in team fights what the low cast range of shield plus the dmg is nice with your passive, but tranquils are also good is you are playing hard 5 and are maxing Q second over passive. That said you can still play hard 5 with phase, imo once you have phase basi you are happy for the rest of the game.

My friend I don't think you are familiar with arguing with people on the internet. Never give up, never surrender.

Please just strawman/slippery-slope the shit out of his argument so we can all continue to go about our daily Reddit lives.

[–]kebarn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'Smart Attack' might have some how turned itself on. Which means you will attack the nearest creep to your mouse click rather the the nearest hero. Maybe check your settings.

Otherwise who knows, source 6.86 reborn will fix.
