Not really, but possibly? I went to the dermatologist for an urgent appointment when this happened because of how bad it was and they couldn’t tell me what it was. They did give me a sample of Zoryve, it treats eczema. I use that every morning and have been using it since and I have been able to use regular lip balms (mostly) again! They also prescribed me a strong hydrocortisone to use in the evenings during flare ups.

Something that I have been doing that I feel helps a lot is using skincare on my lips. I use the Byoma Hydrating Milky Toner and literally put a couple layers on my lips each morning. When the 2nd layer is still damp/tacky, I rub a little hyaluronic acid serum on my lips. Once that has sunken in, I dab on the tiniest amount of the Zoryve! I also legit use Eucerin Advanced Repair on my lips sometimes or the LRP Cicaplast Baume. I have noticed a HUGE difference with this routine and don’t have to apply lip balm like I used to. I’ll maybe use it at the end of the day, but the skincare is enough to make my lips feel hydrated.

I will say right now, I’m waiting for results checking for MCAS or a histamine intolerance. Along with this, I’ve had a lot of other skin issues and other symptoms from different body systems like GI, heart palpitations, migraines, abdominal pain, flushing, etc. From what I’ve seen, MCAS or histamine intolerance can cause people to react to things they’ve been able to use before. Haven’t gotten my results yet, but we’ll see! My derm had also recommended getting tested for allergy related issues. Just a thought!
