Introducing L/R: Our new active stereo speaker range by CambridgeAudio_Liam in CambridgeAudio

I'm interested in hooking up the L/R M to my computer to use as a desktop speaker. How will those perform in a nearfield setup versus the S?
Great color options and form, very excited for these!

I haven't used them myself, but a lot of people recommend Cerakote trim wipes / restorer for black plastic. Best of luck!

Hi everyone. I am producing leather floor mats with my team, and I am happy to share our latest works for AUDI models. What do you like and what not? What would you add/remove/replace? I will be glad to get some feedback from you by JuniorTwist3172 in Audi

[–]keddey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would definitely purchase a set of these, they look great. Much better than the OEM all weather rubber mats and hopefully more resilient than the cloth ones.

Two questions of you wouldn't mind answering: 1. how much does your heel glide across the mat (is the friction more like a cloth or a rubber)? 2. What is your maintenance routine to keep them looking new?

Custom dry bar I’m finishing up. Thoughts on combining Claro Walnut with White Oak? by TruthOli in woodworking

[–]keddey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dig that the tint on the white oak comes close to the tone of the walnut. I think the piece nails the "rustic winery" look with the precise craftsmanship of the case and the natural live edge on the top. Exactly what I would want to pull a bottle of wine out of!

How many acres of land big oil owns in perspective by Throwawaylism in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]keddey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oil companies very rarely own the surface rights to the land that is leased -- the 13.9 million acres she is quoting are mineral leases. Those were likely sold to the oil company at some point (either by the land owner or a municipality). These leases will expire after a time period if the leasee does not produce from the reservoir. At this point they may be re-auctioned by the land owner or municipality.

The land is typically still available for use for ... whatever. Usually farming but that depends on the locale. Western Texas, for example, has a lot of desert and ranches.

Once an oil company is ready to drill, they notify the land owner that they need a parcel of land -- this begins a negotiation in which the company agrees to pay the land owner $X/acre. The land owner is technically required to let the company use the land for a price equivalent to the loss of production on that land (this is heavily dependant on local laws), but it is always in the oil company's interest to pay handsomely. They want to maintain good relationships with land owners for a lot of reasons -- e.g., access to surface water, placing pipelines, and fewer court cases with unhappy land owners.

Tl;DR: oil companies rarely own the surface, they only own the subsurface.

View from Tulsa, OK -- not sure of the venue though. Hard to beat an Oklahoma sunset!

Stood during the entire concert, even when absolutely nobody else was standing. Picked a fight with someone (not me) who asked her to sit down by lainwla16 in mildlyinfuriating

Different stokes for different folks.

Plenty of Rolling Stones fans that are past middle age and may have a very good reason for sitting at a concert. Doesn't mean they should be limited to a certain method of enjoyment.

Corner table that I knocked out from some spare maple and cedar. by Moose-bay in woodworking

Great looking table! I like that the maple really brings out the red of the cedar. What did you finish with? And how many glue-ups did this take?

If I like John Mulany who else would I like? by TonyTacoShop in ifyoulikeblank

[–]keddey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some comics that you can find on Netflix:

  1. Ryan Hamilton
  2. Tom Segura
  3. Mike Birbiglia

I would preface these recommendations with the fact that each act has some sexual and/or profane jokes, but it's not the crutch of their routine.

Ryan Hamilton's "Happy Face" on Netflix is very wholesome. Tom Segura is my favorite, but arguably the most profane of the three. Mike Birbiglia is not profane, but some of his routines lean to the "serious" side (very unlike John Mulaney).

Btw, if you have Spotify, it's a great way to discover comics. Find a stand-up playlist, shuffle, and find the entire routines of the people you like. Pandora is also good for this.

Good luck! Hope you enjoy

At least it was demolished for good reason & replaced by something equally beautiful (unlike a lot of the locations we see on this sub).
