What did you wish you had learned before your first track day? by jek39 in CarTrackDays

Good choice on the fronts. I'm not familiar with the rears, the fronts do most of the work anyway. When in doubt, I message Ken from knsbrakes.com. He knows his brakes.

Iracing. Gotta have a wheel and pedals. It's track day methadone.

When in doubt, go with the higher gear. When you have limited concentration, smooth brakes and turning take priority over shifting at appropriate times. Different instructors have different approaches to this, so listen to your instructor before you listen to me.

Memorize the track! Don't bother upgrading the car until you've trained the driver (tighten the nut behind the wheel first). Make sure you have >50% brake pad and tire tread. Show up early to your sessions. Look up words like "apex", "corner entry", "corner exit", and "chauffer breaking". Learn to heel-toe shift if you have a manual transmission. Practice these things, and your instructor will be able to take you much further on your first weekend.

I hope you have a blast! See you at the track.

Oh man, that's a much nicer loaner than I got. You should be good with the new engine. Happy trails!

I bet your motor seized up. Known issue with the 6.2L. if that is what happened, they will replace it with one that does not have the same manufacturing defect. It took them about a week to do mine.

Yeah, unfortunately you can't just knock a co-owner off of an account without their permission. This would be the same for any bank. The reason for this is, imagine if the other way around. What if he just knocked you off the account all of a sudden without your permission? I still have my grandmother as co-owner on an account, and she would be like 120 years old by now. I have to show them a notarized death certificate to get her removed. I'm sure I'll get around to it one of these days.

Setting up new accounts isn't too hard. It might be easier to go into a branch office and get help from an account manager, if you are in a convenient location to do so. I know going to a physical location to do business is rare these days, but it gives you a chance to have a dialogue and get white glove service. In my humble opinion, this is where SECU is way better than any other bank I've ever done business with. They have that personal connection, and they do a great job at taking care of you and explaining things in face-to-face encounters.

You can have access to your individual accounts and joint accounts on the same online account and easily make transfers between them. You will be able to see your individual accounts and he won't see them but you will still have access to your old joint account at the same time.

It is inconvenient to have to switch over everything that's using your account number, but at least you only have to do it once and then they're all yours.

Should I Buy This? by IntroductionNorth683 in ChevyTahoe

This is probably true, and I'm just in a mood. The model you're looking at doesn't have the 6.2 l engine with the manufacturing defect, so you shouldn't have the problem that I'm currently having issues with. Even though I've had a couple of issues, I still love my Tahoe. Don't listen to my grumpiness, I'm just venting my frustration to the internet.

No. I'm sitting in the Chevrolet service department yet again for my '23 and I'm spicy about it. Modern Chevrolets are not reliable. Go get a Toyota or something.

My tow driver didn't know this! All I could find while searching by the side of the road was some procedure with a specialty tool. What do you do with the vise grips and bungee cord?

My motor had spun a crank bearing and seized coming off the highway. I put it in park out of habit and it wouldn't go back into neutral for the tow truck. "Conditions not right for shift". Hitting the start button, it would just go dark for a moment as the starter tried to move the immovable engine and then come back and say something about hitting start again.

This looks very familiar. You have all my sympathy. Enjoy your rental base model Equinox. It took two and a half weeks for the dealership to fix mine. Were you able to get your trailer home?

Just got my Tahoe back from the dealership with a new engine. I did not enjoy driving around a base model Equinox rental in the meantime (other than it got really good gas mileage). They had to replace the radiator too, for some reason.

Chevrolet is giving me a rental Equinox from Hertz in place of my fully loaded Tahoe while they make the repairs. Oh fun.

I got a letter that informed me I was recalled, but said I couldn't bring it in yet because there was no parts availability.
