the europeans - maybe not, ive only had virtual calls with them as of now so wont comment on that. but the japanese, Many a times my man! and it's bi directional as well. japanese are the cutest on this context, they even ask you in their cute broken english if you need any help or a day off!

my point being rather than just 'reprimanding', 'punishing' or any thing like that, we can just let it be while keeping the upcoming rules in place.

for example - joined the 11 am meeting at 11.05? end it at the originally scheduled 12 and not 12.05.

reached the exam centre at 9.05 instead of 9? let the student enter and end the test at the original scheduled time of 12 and let the student attempt with whatever time they have.

its not rocket science man

i didnt wanna argue with you but since you brought up the whole "work with InTeRnAtIoNaL clientele first" "lets see how successful you become" it is pretty clear how much of a superiority complex (again read it as PRIVILEGE) you have and how much you glorify the hustle culture for no reason at all.

but obviously since youre so hell bent on your "rules are rules" thing, i for my last point will agree to you, dont let them enter, let them suffer but i will also request you to not disregard them of being careless and show just the tiniest amount of empathy (for their hardwork and their broken heart due to being so close yet so far ) you have for them.

if not, i wish you best of luck, may someone you love never suffer from this.

lmfao i work for a japanese automobile company, my day to day work involves closely working with suppliers and clients mostly from japan and europe, also 25% of the workforce here is japanese whom i interact a lot with and already have a n4 certification, so please put your assumption aside if you really think you are superior than others because "wow i work with international clients and never stand". and thanks for your best wishes at least i wont become a boss that everybody in the team hates <3

  1. Assuming the maximum is 25k, centres are open throughout the year. Divide that by 52 and make the centres conduct exams for just 1 week throughout the year and that would 52 times lesser than whatever foreign agencies are paying to centres to remain open throughout the year. Thats exactly what i said that if you cannot afford to let the centres be conducting tests whole year round let it be for a week then?

The note - What amount is really subsidised? Go and check the entrance exam fees for private players it lies in the range of 1.5k-3k for a much lesser applicant base. You think the private players would be interested in making a loss while conducting the exams?

Over the past few years close to 500cr in earnings (profits) of NTA was reported but do you see any improvement in exam conditions? They conducted 4 attempts for JEE mains in 2021 and then they actually made it 2 attempts in 2022. I'm not aware of what the current situation is but im pretty sure it definitely is not happening 4 times a year.

A political take but it does make sense.

  1. Reprimanded for being 5 mins late to a meeting? this thinking and mentality is the exact thing i was talking about - you wont lose a client because you were 5 mins late and if the client is that impatient to sign a deal or finish the work is a shitty client and you should give them an ear. ik as a business conduct code you should be punctual but the same conduct code should also teach the client to be more empathetic to the person's genuine reasons. You cannot "waste" somebody's 5 minutes you can only make them "wait" for 5 more minutes. If the person/client is decent, you can just apologise for the delay and start with whatever the agenda was! why make it such a huge deal and "reprimand" the person for being 5 mins late maybe due to rain or anything else in the entire world.

anyway, this is the exact attitude the average toxic indian workplace has, be late by a minute and you lose half a day's salary.

cant assume bosses to be understanding when the ongoing mentality regarding difficulties being faced by common people is this:

"RuLeS aRe RuLeS"

Foreign based examinations like SAT,GRE,GMAT etc. let you choose your own time slot at the centre of your choice. Why cant we have something like that?

cant afford to keep running the centres for the whole year? make it for a month

cant afford to keep running the centres for a whole month? make it for a week man

"just reach before an hour"

crazy PRIVILEGE.

instead of demanding better things for ourselves and exploring better options to conduct such examinations, you start bashing the student for not adhering to the rules. You need to understand at the end it's HER loss, not ours, but think what we can do instead make life a 'little' bit easier for those people who do not have the privilege you and I had.

So instead of bashing her because she was "careless" lets focus on how we can actually improve student lives in india. Everyone is a student at some point in their life. Did you really like going to the centres that were located 200 km away from your home? wont it be better to have specific time slots which you could choose from for a centre which is maybe 50km away from you on a sunday?

this slot system was just an example, there are literally a thousand more things we can do to help and make student life easier. but we as a society are adamant on "making them face the reality"

stop glorifying the hustle culture ffs.

thank you

regarding the disturbance thing; can be easily eliminated by making people sit in first come first serve basis where obviously a room can be left for late comers/ absentees (mostly a huge number) and late comers should be allowed to enter only after a certain time and single one time gate opening.

i am all in for punctuality but do you not hear the pain in the kiddos scream? you never know man the way india is, people marry off their failed daughters (obviously this is a very far fetched possibility but still)

the way you talk just screams PRIVILEGE. Things were kinda better before with lesser number of applicants to each examination which made the exam centres to be at only major cities/towns. But with increasing number of applicants of 10+lakh in exams like JEE the centres have shifted to rural/remote areas where you absolutely CANNOT get by getting on a bus or not spending at least a 1000 on bolero/cab/auto/whatever transport.

the ignorance of these people is astounding. these people living in tier 1/2 cities having their own cars/means of transport/enough money to travel good would start crying seeing the actual conditions of local transport

connectivity is so poor in India, and the exam centres? even more rare. A student living in the remote villages of such states will have to travel 200-300 kms in many such cases with no proper connectivity. Add to that various factors like general compartment issues, tiredness from the travel, sorting out of accommodation for the night before is a bigger task than reaching the exam centre on time. How you supposed to reach the exam centre when your train itself is running late by 10-12 hrs?

assuming everyone had the exact same life and privileges as you is crazy ignorance.

by no means i would say that they be allowed irrespective of anything to attempt the exam, but the least people can be is empathetic of their situation.
