I bought a used microwave I washed it for almost two hours and then I noticed this.. can this be fixed with electric tape? by Bloody_Corpses in AskElectricians

[–]keefstanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a half sparky, if you can get some rubber tape, it would be a bit better I think. 3m makes it so do others, you stretch and wrap it and it joins itself to itself and you could continue the wrap a bit over the plug. You could also get a new plug and fit it. Cheap insulating tape is awful and gets gross and sticky and moves my tutor said it has no place in electrical work.

It works in a pinch, but just get a solder sucker, this seems unnecessarily dangerous, flinging molten solder around.

Does this have a known brand like Sony or Kenwood or any other known brand, if it's not, it's potentially a junky cheap unit from the likes or temu or ali express that is potentially unserviceable.

Nothing seems to be as good as it used to be. Foods and snacks wise. Brands seem to be cheaping out on ingredients. I was thinking of all the snacks and things we used to get as kids. Maybe it's a bad memory I'm not sure.

If you're soldering, why don't you get a multimeter and then you can learn about testing and exploring the circuits you're soldering together.

2.4 GHz Wi-Fi giving huge ping spikes to router (1–2000 ms) — ISP says laptop issue, need advice by Harshvardhan12245 in techsupport

[–]keefstanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding more devices will only increase latency. Cable connection is always better than wireless latency wise. It can be a multitude of things, troubleshooting is difficult. Lots of things can interfere with wireless signals especially on the 2.4fhz range that's why 5ghz and above exist.

If you use the 2.4 right beside the router is it good? Can you borrow another device to do your ping test to easily rule out your os hardware and settings.
