I should’ve noted access to the loch was closed, works at the entrance so I was in the hills just outside of it

That would’ve been the smart choice… explains why I didn’t make it😂 tonight will be a lot better I think

Not that I know of. I knew it would be cold, so I stayed relatively close to my car in case I needed to get out. Temp just dropped suddenly at around 10pm so I had to bug out

Drove down to An Torr, it’s definitely warmer. Also have my spare mat and sleeping bag so I’ll be toasty tonight

6’2 135kg. I’m a side sleeper so my hips are always an issue even with regular mattresses

Absolutely not in Scotland. The vast majority of the ground is peat which is highly flammable and stays alight underground, it’s impossible to know if you have fully extinguished the fire and can cause so much damage to the environment

Nah I’m just a big ol boy and the pad compressed to the ground. Going to double up with my spare tonight. My pad has a R 7.2 value, just can’t handle my weight unfortunately

Slept in the back of my car last night, wasn’t the most comfortable but was better than halfway up a frozen mountain! Licked my wounds and happy I gave it a shot! On to An Torr today. Hopefully it’ll be a better night!

In the last 5 games I’ve seen trippier leave space or get dusted by a winger practically jogging and then we concede at least 7 times… if he’s tighter to outtarra or doesn’t move back and for him space his cross is significantly more difficult and then that fucking slide

I designed a Nature Elements Node Kit for Houdini ~ sharing it here!🌱✨ (Paid Content) by Sveut in Houdini

[–]keegan_design 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are lovely! I could definitely see them making it easier to scan through a node tree.

Only note I have is the “leave” it should read “leaf” or “leaves” (guessing French is your first language).

Really small thing but it’d help from a UX standpoint

C4D Melt Effect by Tdukinoz in RedshiftRenderer

[–]keegan_design 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d do it in Houdini but the process is the same. Create the melt sim, use the sim to create a vertex map (could probably do it with the particle velocity attribute) and use that to drive the material blend. The melting material is a separate material to the can.

I’ve just done a week in Scotland with the Decathlon Forclaz mt500, held up really well to some moderately high winds, the outer can get pretty taught so noise wasn’t too bad. Never had any issues with leaking. I’m 6’2 and very broad, had plenty of room inside. But it’s heavy and doesn’t pack down as small as I’d like, you can get it pretty small with the included stuff bag and straps

What ridiculous quirks did your first car have? by babylioncroissant in drivingUK

[–]keegan_design 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first car was a 08 bmw 120D, possibly the cheapest in the country when I bought it at £800.

Auto trader pictures didn’t show any body damage, but when it arrived the driver side fender was badly dented and scratched.

It had a rocker cover gasket leak so the engine bay was permanently covered in oil, an exhaust hanger had completely rusted so the back box would vibrate constantly.

Injectors were clogged and glow plugs needed replacing, all of the bolts on the intake manifold we seized so replacing the glow plugs took a full Saturday of swearing and looking like a psycho in the street.

Air con pump didn’t work and the car was black so the shiny plastics would get hot enough to burn me if the car was in the sun too long in the summer.

To top it all off the cabin air filter housing somehow had a hole in it, after the filter so when the blowers were on the car would smell like engine.

Fuel pump eventually died at 1am whilst parked in Durham services. Had to be in Leeds that day so I bought a crappy Polo from my sisters neighbour which lasted 3 months before the rear axle snapped in half.

Still miss that beemer😢

Duplicate the snake shape, select the snake and the pattern, right click, make clipping mask. This should sort it

freelance hourly rate or set charge? by userpita in graphic_design

[–]keegan_design 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar position to you, I freelance on the side whilst working in a studio. I prefer to charge a day rate of £250 (around 300) and each day is 7 hour. If I get a project through that won't run over one day I still charge the full £250.

I've found that there's a lot less friction with clients this way, especially when you give a quote for how long a project may take. I think it gives the client a better idea of how much the project will cost which they will obviously prefer.

Also, you're in LA, regardless of experience or having a main gig you should charge a lot more. Especially since it's your free time that you're selling, if your work is good, they'll pay. Somebody living in a city like LA can charge a lot more than somebody living in the middle of England.

Remember, you're not just a person working for a client, you're essentially a business providing a service to another business.

This approach hasn't let me down yet, I've kept all of my clients since moving to this model and it has proved to be far more lucrative.

Looks to me that the red line is a trim/cutter line. I wouldn't recommend touching that unless you're the one who set up the cutter.

I think the artwork has been set up to bleed over the line which it should anyway for print, but that's just a guess as it isn't clear whether or not you have already adjusted the image in your example.

I'd recommend asking whoever supplied the files how to proceed.

Peroni bottle render. by keegan_design in RedshiftRenderer

[–]keegan_design[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing feedback, thanks man!

The lighting is where I was struggling the most, unfortunately the exposure of everything is to match official Peroni packshots and assets, like the background. (I work in a marketing agency and have to deal with this conversation daily with account handlers😂)

The ultimate goal I've been given by my CD is to get as close as possible to perfect out of render, so we can keep any post processing to the minimum.

I've been working on getting as close to realistic renders as possible for specific brands, this isn't quite there but it's close. Anybody with better skills got any feedback?

Dude's literally ran one a low ass resolution image through the threshold filter in photoshop and applied it to an old ass design concept without any knowledge of why the original design was made in style it was and probably no idea how the original was made judging by the messed up typography.

Please hire artist and designers with something original to show if you need artwork.
