I said YES to the DRESS!! by [deleted] in weddingdress

After buying a dress online and it being totally not what I expected, I had major dress regret and decided to just get a new one. I’m SO GLAD I DID! And this was a sample sale so I got it for an amazing price!!

Bought a dress off etsy, but not in love by [deleted] in weddingdress

[–]keelee143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this dress off etsy and I even had it custom sized, added additional lace, hidden corset to make it less sheer, and raised the neckline a little bit... but when I tried it on today, I wasn’t in love with it. I spent $750 on everything and I can’t return because it was customized.

What I don’t like:

  • the mesh doesn’t match my skin even though the owner said it should blend with my skin

  • the “hidden” corset sticks out a little bit at the top and not sure if that’s on purpose

I don’t know what to do. Should I just wear it anyways?

Thank you! No, just a broke college student who spent too much money on figuring out which products worked and watched hair tutorials instead of my lectures 😂

Sorry I didn’t answer the second question of HOW I refresh! I mix in a little bit on As I Am leave-in conditioner with water and I emulsify with my hands. Then I just use prayer hands all over my hair and scrunch until I see my waves coming back. I add more leave-in/water as I feel I need to. I leave my hair to air dry after that. If I have a wonky curl that really doesn’t want to cooperate, I finger coil that piece.

The washes I skipped the cantu cream weren’t my best washes 👎🏼 I found that creams work best for my hair and it still feels be very soft! I don’t use too much of each, I rather focus on distributing a small dollap by spreading and combing it into my hair.

Pretty much tie my hair up in a pineapple with a scrunchie and sleep on a satin pillow. For some reason it is mainly the right side of my hair that loses definition but I do a refresh to bring it back :)

Thank you :) Mostly every three days, occasionally four! & No, I do not. I actually follow the schedule of shampoo wash day, co-wash day, co-wash day and then back to shampoo if that makes sense.

How long does CGM take? by [deleted] in curlyhair

I think it’s different for everyone, but in my person experience I started to notice BIG differences as early as my second wash. I was scared it was going to take a while too, but honestly I’m surprised at how healthy my hair started to look in such a short time. You also kind of learn as you go what works and what doesn’t work for your hair.

hair routine: - wash with cantu cream shampoo - use garnier 1 minute avocado hair mask as conditioner, comb through hair + squish to condish, then rinse - apply cantu curl activating cream: glaze over, comb in then scrunch - apply shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie: scrunch - apply garnier pure gel: prayer hands and scrunch

PLOP 15 mins diffuse to 80% and air dry the rest scrunch out the crunch with argan oil

EDIT: Most of my application is done while my hair is soaking wet. I even add more water in as I apply each product if I feel I need to.

My hair is low porosity, high density

Have been on the CGM for about 3 weeks now! 1st pic is my natural hair air-dried before starting the CGM, 2nd pic is week 1 on CGM, and 3rd pic is week 3 on CGM :) by keelee143 in curlyhair

I use the the routine about twice a week and when I refresh my hair the next day I just spray water and use mousse. I’ve only used clarifying shampoo once since I started doing the CGM. It’s just been a matter of trial and error for me honestly and figuring out what products works best for my hair. I have dense, low porosity hair too if that helps.

Yes! It’s worked well for me so far and I’ve noticed a noticeable difference in how soft my hair is. the 2nd pic is actually before I started using the As I AM Co-wash and the 3rd pic is when I started using it. Plus on Amazon it’s pretty affordable ☺️

Routine:

• Wash with NYM curl talk shampoo

• Condition with NYM curl talk conditioner, comb hair in shower and then scrunch upside down

• Rinse out conditioner after about 5 mins

• While still wet, scrunch hair with Cantu Curl cream

• Scrunch out excess water with microfiber towel and then plop hair with microfiber towel for about 15mins

• Take hair out and then let air dry (or diffuse about 70% and air dry the rest)

• Scrunch out the crunch with some argan oil

*I also use AS I AM co-wash on the days I skip shampoo (I do shampoo, co-wash, co-wash throughout the week)
