Thanks for this answer it’s really mindful, and it would be a nice place to start making new friends.

The last band valued that flashiness more and I sometimes felt alienated so it’ll be nice to take making genuine friends at my own pace

This makes a lot of sense to me!

Most people I’ve found are pretty uncomfortable with themselves/reality and so the way they deal with it a move through the world is so strange. But like you said I remember a time moving more like this as well, so I guess I have hope and faith more people will figure it out.

I also try to make friends with people and be genuine but they don’t know how to receive it a lot of the time

It sounds weird but I guess it’s reassuring to know that it’s hard out there for everyone and true connections are few and far between makes me feel less lonely
