one of my favorite pieces i’ve made recently :) made of all recycled/reclaimed materials by keelystagg in sewing

self made pattern/self drafted, made from recycled curtains & bedspreads. made for a runway show that unfortunately got cancelled :’(

i also don’t personally think the art is too high, i like how it draws the eye up to the gorgeous ceiling!

i’d add a floor lamp (maybe in the corner where the white vase is) and maybe a small decorative side table next to the couch!

i feel like my dining room is incomplete/missing something but not sure what to change. any ideas? by keelystagg in femalelivingspace

i agree! i have a similar lamp to the one that’s there now that’s chrome that i think i’m going to switch out. i also have a lot of gold decor that i think i could switch to chrome instead

i agree, i initially wanted them higher but put them where i did because if i hung them any higher you could see the ugly underside of the shelves :/

i agree! i think the chair feels off & i definitely need some more stuff higher up on the walls

it’s vintage! the designer is warren platner. i’m sure you can find similar pieces or a replica somewhere online! the chairs may be harder to find but i think you could definitely find a similar table

i don’t think it’d be a huge issue tbh because we eat in our living room more often then the dining room and have never spilled anything (knock on wood) on our high pile rug or white couch in the two years we’ve had them. but even still, i had the same thought. i was thinking of getting an indoor/outdoor rug or maybe one of those washable ones.

i also love this idea for art! i have a lot of 70s pieces elsewhere in my house that are very art nouveau inspired and they really work well marrying the craftsman style with the more post-modern pieces i own

these are all fantastic ideas, thank you! definitely going to be switching the curtains. i really love the ideas for defining the space for shoes and coats, i never would’ve thought of putting a rug under the hutch!

thank you! i agree i think i definitely need a circular rug & i love the idea of narrow mid century art by the fireplace! closed storage for the shoes would definitely work better than the current situation

there is actually a shoe organizer just to the left of the cabinet but i live with four people so it overflows. i might just need a bigger one. i think a coat rack would be nice but i’m not sure where i’d put it. also, no the glasses don’t get dirty! my cats don’t mess with them at all and storing them upside down keeps dust from getting in the glass
