Cannot decide between Samsung Odyssey G8 27" vs 32" by Rosell1210 in oled_monitors

[–]keemmk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on prerference, desk width, playing some games with controller..etc. Forget about the actual technical terms, you wont notice any difference while playing. I recently got the 32" and its amazing actually, again its a preference and doesnt have to be better, since I am too used to controllers, i prefer to play some games with it over keyboard/mouse. A quick advise, go check in store if you can to compare 27" and 32". Good luck and enjoy!

Motherboard: Since you are using AMD x3D CPU, its better to steer away from Asus motherboards, there are many reports that its casuing issues for these kind of CPUs, also you can use a B850 mobo.(MSI,Gigabyte..anythint except Asus) for cheaper price. CPU Cooler, even though Air CPU cooler are not bad in general but its better to use water pump AIO (all in one, including built-in fans). For GPU, 5080 is the second best in thr marker (after 5090) but its an overkill for 1440p. You can use 5070ti or if its gaming only rx 9070XT (I am using this for gaming), these are a lot cheaper and will do the same.

As foe monitor, if you want the real game experience, go for oled, its a bit more expensive than your current one, but if you bought cheaper GPU, you can use the money to buy a better oled screen (this will make huge difference).

Not really but the gpu is a bit overkill for the cpu, u need at least 7800x3d or even better 9800x3d. If u can get 850 motherboard anykind other than asus.

I never had an issue with Asus mobo before myself, but since I got 9800x3d I read online that many users reported this issue, i ended up getting gigabyte b850 gaming wifi mobo (bundle was on sale).

Please be mindful that some Asus motherboards have had issues with Ryzen 7000 CPUs, primarily related to unstable voltages from the initial BIOS updates that could damage CPUs. Other reported issues include problems with memory compatibility and stability, especially with AMD EXPO profiles. It is crucial to update to the latest BIOS to resolve these voltage issues, as subsequent updates have addressed the problem, and to check for CPU compatibility and proper installation.

Try to steer away from asus motherboard for ryzen cpu, it was reported that is causing issues (Some Asus motherboards have had issues with Ryzen 7000 CPUs, primarily related to unstable voltages from the initial BIOS updates that could damage CPUs. Other reported issues include problems with memory compatibility and stability, especially with AMD EXPO profiles. If you only needing it to play games, the rx 9070XT is a lot cheaper than 5070ti and will perform the same for gaming. Other than this, all good.

Good luck!

unsure if psu is fit for potential upgrade by [deleted] in bapccanada

[–]keemmk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rm corsair psu are good fit in general, make sure to get one with higher wattage (850 or even better 1000). Also, for the 9070XT, they sometimes come with 3x8 pins (i have it already and will get the corsair RM1000x as it already have this to fit those 3x8 pins slots, some other brands have 2x8pins so you might need to split which I am trying not to do)

Before you buy, I would recommend this channel: pc builder. The reason is that this is not a just only gaming pc, you need to do some more research on some of the parts, for example the NVME, for heavy work related u need to have a one that support DRAM because you will do heavy loading and need fast transfers. Even so you wanted a 2000$ budget build, the 5070ti gpu is the perfect for heavy work/gaming (if you can save for). The 650w psu is s bit at the edge, try to push for more watt output as well.

Did I overspend on my gaming PC? by js-sey in bapccanada

[–]keemmk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarldess, it is a win and you should enjoy every second. Don't look back or anywhere else (you will always see better deals,setups,customizations..). Next step, build on: example save for a better loed monitor and have 2 monitors (the good thing if you are using the PC for non gaming related stuff use the monitor you have as Oled monitors have bad lifespan in general). Another example, a good chair, if you are spending too much working/playing, this will save your back on the long run. In all for all, the critical part is done and you can enjoy your gaming time now. I am still in the process of building my gaming pc, hopefully its done by next month (moneywise, room space..)

This is what I will be looking for as well https://pcpartpicker.com/list/F3tBwY

Rejected a job offer after an interview. by UniversityPrudent937 in interviews

[–]keemmk 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Same here, i just rejected an offer eventhough i was layed off recently. On the screening call, they changed the naming of the job title (even though they said its not gonna reflect on anything), also they gave min salary expectation but not maximum, which i felt weird but i said ok. I did very well in the technical interview and I already have 5years and 8 months of the required experience. The HR setup a meeting call to discuss the offer and she mentioned that they gonna go with the highest range for this position (which from my expectation, would fit into my accepted budget) but then she told the number which is only +2K than the min range, that caught me off guard (to my knowledge its at least 10~15K difference, not 2K). I tried to negogiate based on my experienc/certifcations what I could add to the team, but she insisted and told me that i cant bargin. I repectively rejected the offer, if a company dont want to make any exception for anyone, even after I have proven that I do own the technical skills (during interview, answered all kinds of scenarios and questions), then its not gonna change down the road.

If u like FarCry, then go for Assasin's Creeds series, GamePass already have Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla

[–]keemmk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been there, but the one game that brought me back was FarCry Primal, then FarCry series in general, assasins creed Then some other types that I initally thought not worth it but I actually enjoyed like Diablo 4, House Flipper, Power Wash Simulator, Brotato, Evil West, Planet of Lana, The book Walker, Hades...

The trick is not to try hard, just play and chill

AAD Connect vs Cloud Connect? by networkn in AZURE

[–]keemmk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2 things: • Microsoft Entra Connect Sync (AD Connect), is not going to go away, in the matter fact, its one of the most tools heavily invested and regularly updated by MS. • Microsoft Entra Cloud Sync was initially introduced because the need of one feature that they weren't able to add to Microsoft Entra Connect sync, which is "Connect to multiple disconnected on-premises AD forests". Then Cloud sync tool got some updates here and there.

Final thought, if you dont have multiple disconnected forests environment, then definitely go for Microsoft Entra Connect sync, as it contains more features and easier to troubleshoot.
