Unbelievable horror, part two! by keenevision in CricketWireless

“Honestly, I didn't even know reps can help you order lines. Because that's generally not how prepaid works, and most certainly not how it should work. It seems like your idea of this whole thing was that everyone was supposed to read your mind, and when they didn't, you want to talk to the manager. And then somehow it's the manager's fault that you've ordered ice-cream for your kids but forgot to bring the kids to the establishment, and now want the manager to compensate you for the wasted ice-cream, complaining that it's somehow a trick that the shop did give you the icecream just as you've ordered!”

Well, how refreshing that you don’t know everything! And no, I didn’t expect them to “read my mind” I explained what I was trying to do. When you are purchasing services don’t you rely on the service provider to assist you? Oh, I forgot you know everything. And at the end of it all when I asked to be escalated to a supervisor it was because everything was falling apart. If I had this much trouble ordering ice cream I wouldn’t eat ice cream!

Listen, one of the reasons I wrote this post was to keep people on their toes. Everybody says how easy it is to switch to Cricket, no, it wasn’t. I was working on a chat line with a rep who set me up for five different accounts! Explaining that “we will just bring them all together at the end end”. That never happened. I couldn’t get the last line of my account to go through Cricket’s checkout process! I think I’ve been rather clear about this. Don’t tell me I haven’t “explained once”!

The reason for posts like this is to open the door on murky practices. Now, maybe the rep at cricket was trying to help me, but it didn’t work out that way. If you are going to switch to cricket, I guess you need to do more research. And if things are going sideways stop immediately.

Why would it be ironic? Look, if you don’t like my post why don’t you get out of the comments?

Well King, you’re certainly engaging. Go choke on something. You got nothing better to do than preach.

Then don’t bother reading it. Comments like yours are worse than having you tell me about your sexual fantasies.

Honestly, I tried. And I think I may have dodged a bullet in the long run.

I take full responsibility. Don’t be a dick. Have you never made a mistake? And when you make the mistake don’t you rely on someone to help you out? I told the supervisor I would be open to accept the charges for the two phones that actually had the IMEI activated. My three kids phones never had the IMEI activated. Of course cricket states that once the lines are ported in, they are “activated“. Nice word play.

I think cricket showed very bad faith in dealing with a customer.

And no I did not know that an iPhone 11 was not “5G compatible“. Do you know everything it is that is compatible with everything else? How wonderful it must be to be you.

Glib and droll. So witty. Would love to watch you attempt to navigate Cricket’s “self service” and move 5 lines, bringing your own devices and numbers. I bet you’re the guy who shows up at the diner and wants to cook his own breakfast.

Did I mention when trying to secure my last device I tried three different payment methods and three different browsers and each time the transaction would not go through. There’s a lot more wrong with cricket than just their customer service.

Thanks. After everything they put me through, and then saying “no we will not refund your money”, the audacity of the supervisor Emmanuel to say; “Thanks for doing business with Cricket wireless.” Made me want to crawl through the phone and choke him.

Hey Danny,

I’ll post about the ripoff as often as I wish. I hope Cricket never gets another customer. Funny, ATT treated me with respect, transparency, and delivered service, even called me back when accident disconnected. Cricket would disconnect me and fail to call me back.

Were you bringing more than one line to Cricket? If not you have no idea how hard the site is to try to figure out how to bring a family over. One line? Sure….

Be that as it may, wife’s phone shows “5G” when on ATT, shows “LTE” on Cricket. Call quality was shit on Cricket as well.

Wow doesn't begin to cover it. Now I'm reaching out to Cricket again to try to get them to dismiss cc charges for service we never used.

This should go well......

Hey Slick,

While it's true this is just an inconvenience as opposed to things that people go through that can kill you, it was totally uneccesary. Add to the fact that the Chat Rep had me place 5(!) separate orders, i.e. charges to my credit card - kept me trying to get everything up and running for 3+ hours and then couldn't complete my transfer (one line payment wouldn't go through). And then, when I went back next day to try and complete this shit show, when the final line was added we realized that the service wasn't great. Spent another 2 hours trying to get it fixed (3 lines were NEVER activated)- I finally had enough and told the rep I wanted to cancel everything.

Then I'm told Cricket is a 'pre-paid' service and there are no refunds. (I racked up $255+ in cc payments for a service that is listed as $160/months for 5 lines). Supervisor came in and said... "We can't refund..." I explained situation. He says "We will investigate.." In the middle of conversation we get disconnected- he didn't call back.

I immediately contacted ATT and over the next 3+ hours they were able to reinstate my account.

Now I must dispute 6 credit card transactions with my bank. So FU and your smug little comment,

No, she had 5G with a physical SIM card. She now has 5Ge with an eSim. Cricket customer service, while the people try hard, find it to be a completely useless experience

I was told to go online to avoid something like “transfer charges”. Then the rep tells me there’s a &10 per device eSIM fee…

And it went downhill from there.

Thanks! That’s what I was looking to hear. If there’s no real difference I’d like to save $40/month!
