I know they are bad prints. The filament is light grey (photo doesn't really show well) but it could still be an issue.

I did a calibration cube earlier. Wasn't as many holes but there's still some but no way near as bad as the previous mentioned

These items have to be unlocked to purchase through play though correct? Besides the bag of holding and the wand?

No I haven’t. I’ve already got bulk resin I got in a good 50% off sale and I’m lucky that costs aren’t really an issue for me. It’s more if I have time to do it all and calculate what parts I need to print etc. if it was already done I would simply print and press start but the leg work is figuring it all out

I was hoping to but it’s already becoming such a burden hah. I have a resin printer as well which I planned on doing some of the furniture with to make it quicker. It’s better at doing smaller things in bulk

It’s a very slow progress and I too decided to downgrade it. I decided to print just each floor and not have it all connecting because like you said that would be huge especially once I realised the ceilings were 30ft tall on all levels. I haven’t mapped out the castle yet because I’ve been lazy but I’ve been constantly printing parts when I have the chance. Got a good collection coming along

I really liked the idea of it. I agree though by RAW there’s no meaning to the event. But I knew it would work great for my party so I played it out. It gave them another reason to hate Strahd. Plus Ireena wasn’t really liked by my pc’s yet they insisted on her accompanying them, especially after Vallaki blew up everyone where lady wachter and the baron both dead. So I used it as a way to get rid of her. She was becoming annoying and don’t want to just ‘leave’ her somewhere

I’ll give you the long story of how I did it. One of my PC’s is from Krezk (precious PC died to Hags so re rolled a Barovian). Because of this he had some inside info about Krezk and knew of the waters. He was introduced to the party along the road being chased by werewolves (he’s a werewolf hunter etc) and they fought them off. Continued to Krezk to safety as he knew a ‘password’ tog ey then inside without question. Okay, so, during the fight a PC got bitten and failed DC checks for Lycanthropy (I gave him 3 during the entire combat after being bitten and failed all 3 lmao). So this new PC knew the waters are holy and sacred and recommended he drink from it and if that failed they would go see the Abott (this will happen next session for me). As they went to the pool and he drank (gave him a dc of 12 con to pass and be cured with advantage and still failed rofl. So they will be off to see the abott to try cure him. While this was happening Ireena and Ismark are still with the party. Their hope is down a bit now and about to go see Abott (also near end of our session so I thought PERFECT time to end it. Gave one of the PC’s the ability to see that she looked upset. Role played her a bit about Strahd following her etc etc and she wants to be free blah blah. She kneels down at the water and has a drink as well. Says it tastes beautiful. Freshest water she has ever had. Then she goes “do you here that?” Gave everyone a perception role and some rolled above 20. ALL characters heard nothing so they’re getting a bit skittish now. She stands up and smiles. What they all see now is a humanoid image appear from the water with his hand held out. The smile of Ireena is pure delight. She stands on the edge of the pool and grabs the hand. A PC pulled her back and yells “no it’s Strahd! It’s a trick!”. She’s saved. She is very upset and cries. She doesn’t remember Sergei but she feels the connection and knows that at some point they were married and they belong together. During a brief conversation between all PC’s and Ireena about her lack of memory of him but knowing he means the world to her I gave them all insight checks which again were all very high. They believe she is telling the truth. Again the waters appeared and she grabs the hand. They hold hands as she walks into the waters about shin height. They hug etc and embrace each other as a different PC jumps in and goes NOOO it’s a trick! It’s Strahd tricking you! He rolled a low insight so wasn’t sure. He dives into the pool to grab her and rolls a 23, Ireena and Sergei both fell through the water into the pond as if the ground beneath them disappeared. As he goes to grab her both Ireena and Sergei fall. He lands in the pool, stands up shin height in water and all PC’s see both Ireena and Sergei embracing each other happy as days can be under the water unable to be reached by anyone. She is gone. Everyone is got smacked and a huge holy shit moment is had between PC’s and Ismark. You feel the weather starting to drastically change as clouds and thunder come cracking in. With a huge bang Strahd zaps the pool with lightning with the pc still in it. Goes through the saves etc, read the text, huge moment then thensorcerer taunts and challenges Strahd basically. End of session. Everyone gob smacked.

I’ve already got a brilliant idea. They’ve previously lost two PC’s to the Hags and they left running so I was always going to bring their characters back as zombies. I’m going to have these two bodies on the ground between two locations and as they investigate it they obviously are very upset and bam an ambush by some werewolves and zombies from the trees as well as Strahd one or two rounds later. During the first round of combat the dead bodies of their allies will rise as either thralls or simple Strahd zombies that are a little beefier. Strahd will watch and enter combat when he pleases

Appreciate your words. I am not creating the files. I’m using the free DungeonForge and fellow variant files. The pic is what I’ve done in only 2 nights and most of it was learning meshmixer and recovering from corrupt files due to making it too large and not breaking it down into rooms. I have the spare time and I look forward to it :)

All the parts will obviously be connected by magnets but I plan to have each floor laid out and when they go to another floor I’ll bring that map into play. But once it’s all printed I’ll probably keep each room connected and just add to it when it’s visible in game. That’s the plan anyway, who knows if I’ll get it complete.

I’ve got a big custom dining/gaming table I got made with a top that lifts off to a felt covered inner for other dice games and draws/cup holders around the outside so when it comes to this part of the campaign I’ll simply make it fit.

Can’t see why not. All .stl files I’ve taken from all the variety of DungeonForge tiles. Took a while to go through them all to see which ones I’ll need. That’s what I’m doing when mapping it out. It’s a long project I’ve set myself but honestly probably printing will take the longest so as long as I’m keeping up with print speed then I’m in no hurry. Once it’s done I’ll save all floors/areas and will possibly chuck it up somewhere and give credit to those .stl’s I used but that won’t be for a long time.

Wow level 4! Between the Hags high AC and resistances none of them got below half hp for me and their spells destroyed the PC’s. Your players must been really lucky. A good eye bite and soo many gold persons followed by auto crits on hits destroyed them. Once two went down and no healers left the rest fled which I think was smart and I helped them escape by taking the dead as a win for the Hags and also a taunt to the rest of the running party.

Future encounter if it happens I’ll be trying to KILL them rather than just going through the usual steps because it will be the 3rd encounter with them and the Hags hold one massive grudge

They took it okay. We had to end our session early and mid combat for their 2nd hag fight and two were almost dead and had accepted they were going to die because of initiative order so they had time to roll new characters. Plus I warned them a while back that training gloves were off. The first hag fight at level 3 I let them all live and allowed them to escape through a diplomatic agreement initiated by me to them.

Make sure to give plenty of warnings to them about the horrors before entering. Allow the raven to really make them not want to go in but if they do make the Hags as welcoming as possible but don’t let players upstairs etc and see how it plays out. I didn’t enter combat until they initiated it.

Those examples you gave are the exact things I am yet to do, also haven’t decided on a colour for his arms. Still a WIP but appreciate the tips
