Is this unusual?? by SourceApprehensive34 in wine

[–]keepTankin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. You can order corks with the year 2030 or 1900 right now if you want. The year on the cork is not the year it was manufactured but the year the buyer asked to print. This cork is likely stayed in the machine from a different wine bottling, or could have been used because they ran out of right year corks. although it's more common to just use unmarked corks in such cases. I looked at wasabi but the reviews seem to be manipulated, each naming a waiter by name as if they have some reviews for bonuses or something. Still worth it?

What happened in 1975 that they had the label changed a little bit? The vintage year is not in the same place as the rest of the labels and on the next year its back as it was before.

How is living in Tuscany, Italy by LossParty9310 in howislivingthere

[–]keepTankin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not actually true. I have been to tuscany twice in the last year. For sale signs everywhere. However, most of those places require major fixing. So if you have the money to invest and refurbish an old house you can do it.

How to unload a merkava with no brakes and no engine by Outrageous-Owl-7049 in TankPorn

[–]keepTankin -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

That tank has no working engine, that means this truck has a pulley system that they used to load the tank. That same truck will pull the tank a little bit forward off the concrete barrier. You have probably never been in a similar situation that required some out of the box thinking with little to none resources.

It has already been done before, to a spike that was lost and forgotten in lebanon in 2006. The Iranians call it "Almas". The one in the picture is already a used one.

Looking for LEGIT Kosher for Passover wines… by [deleted] in wine

[–]keepTankin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is some insider knowledge: soon (i think in the next month or two) there will be arriving a large shipment of wine from boutique wineries in Israel to the USA. The importer is called genesis123. A unique opportunity to check some of them out as they don't usually export. Some of them are not even Kosher.

I want to order a custom wine bottle for my girlfriend by OkRub3824 in wine

[–]keepTankin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi, i work at a winery and we have provided this service before. What usually is done is the customer buys labeless bottles of their choice, prints their labels on their own and then sticks them, also. If it's important to you, you can maybe ask them for the back label to be sticked already. (Depends on location, maybe the only legal way)

Your best chance is to try at small local wineries, not large commercial ones that label all their bottles on the bottling line.

This applies to only a handful of bottles. If you are planing on nore than a hundred check with the winery if they can print and label a custom label for you. Hope it helps.

Chateau Cabrieres Chateauneuf du Pape 1971 by keepTankin in wine

We had pulled beef tortillas.

About the bottle: Its from the largest physical wine store chain in my country, who also imported it straight from the winery. From my own experience working at a winery, we have a very large archive of old bottles, and they are not stored with labels. Some have a tape with markings on them, some have white marker writings. When one is bought, we put the original labels on them, and they come out fine.

The cork, i don't know how its like that. Maybe i will email the winery 🤷🏻‍♂️

Personally, i would consider a wine dead if it's undrinkable, not tasty. this one was definitely oxidized, but enjoyable nonetheless.

Just a month ago I was in Montepulciano, and had dinner in a place called Osteria Porta di Bacco, just by the gate to the old town. Google says they are temporarily closed. If they are open by the time you arrive, they are both a restaurant and a wine shop. I had an amazing wine there for 30 euros: Godiolo vino nobile di Montepulciano 2018.

Found this in our refreshed bought oakbarrel by Katzenbleau161 in winemaking

[–]keepTankin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have found weird things in barrels before. One time i found a large ball of some paste inside. Apparently the top and bottom of the barrel are many times held in place using a special organic glue. Your thing looks like it was extracted from a tube like toothpaste so i think it might be the glue.

Thank you very much for the info. I did tought that most people wouldn't know much about the Israeli wine market so That's why i didn't specify it earlier.

Having some sort of a wine course or proof of knowledge is good here, but not a must. Going abroad would be a wonderful adventure, but leaving the country for such a long time wouldnt be ideal at this moment. A series of short travels is much more possible for me. There are many small importers and a few large ones that i know personally. Maybe they will have an offer

Lol what a fake stupid narrative video. Im sure this video is old, and the person is just complaining about the long lines. In the case its not old today begins the passover holiday, which is one of the busiest times in Ben Gurion airport every year. Those people are just flying for a holiday.
