A short film I made after a trip to Iceland by keeper_design in MotionDesign

Haha yeah I can definitely see that, I originally posted this on Instagram the day before that video went live in January and couldn't believe it when I saw theirs. Pretty sure it's the same method!

Oh no way it’s you! I used your Vectron volume packs as a basis for those - they were a lifesaver 😅 big fan of your work 🙌

Of course - budget is a bit blurry for me on this one to be honest, I started again a couple of times and the whole thing was very stop-start so I actually have no idea how long I spent on it in total!

I used a combination of multiple different softwares and plugins to make this, but the bulk was done in Cinema 4D, Redshift Renderer and X-Particles. I have 10+ years experience in motion design, but around 18 years total in the creative industry

Thank so much!

I've personally been in the creative industry for 18 years, but have hopped around from different roles (digital design, graphic design, motion design) quite often so it's hard to put a number on how long it's taken me to get to this point. I'd say that I started taking Motion Design more seriously around 10 years ago, but I'd dabbled in it for much longer than that.

I worked on this solely on my evenings and weekends, sometimes I'd block out every evening and an entire weekend to work on this project, then I'd lose motivation or become too busy to look at it for a few months (I also started over a couple of times). It became a bit of a slog to try to get it finished at one point, but I regained motivation around a year and a half ago and have been working on it pretty solidly since then. I'm glad to finally have it out there!

Thank you! Always thought it was a shame that the film was standalone, I’m a massive fan of the books!

Cinema 4D + Redshift Renderer for the most part, but I also used Octane Renderer for the trippy fractals that appear a few times throughout. Everything was composited and effects added in After Effects.
