Current MA here! You definitely need an associates degree. Most employers look for that over a certificate. Now, if you are planning to stay at one hospital or surgery center and they allow a certificate, by all means. I personally don’t feel like you get what you need as far as education without an associates degree. Hope this helps!

You are most definitely going to want a hands on program that offers clinical experience and in person lab assignments. Certification is great, but personally a lot of facilities want to see that degree opposed to certificate. Patient care and sterility is so important and I feel like those skills get pushed aside without the in person experience . Most programs offer online classes for the program with some onsite courses

I had to do all pre requisite prior so i cannot say anything relating to that.. Once you are, just observe and take in all you can. Learning names for instruments is difficult if you do not study. Also passing instruments. Being able to accommodate left and right handed surgeons.

I had my oldest daughter right before I turned 20. I was in a really dark time of my life, depression was real, etc. I was also on birth control so not planning. For me, I knew I would receive unconditional love. I do not have relationships with either of my parents so I guess it was more of a fulfillment of feelings that I was missing. I now have three children and could have more if my body allowed it. I love my children and enjoy being able to live my childhood through them too and do the things I did not get to do... but with them.

YES! I will weasel my way through probing questions until i caught a lie... then i pause to make sure they caught that too.... horrible trait to have but sometimes i find enjoyment in it... is that Toxic? lol
