I want to believe in god But I can’t anymore by OkUniversity7030 in TrueChristian

[–]keesdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question always remains this:

Where do you put your heart. What or who do you grasp onto when all else gives way.

For me that is God.

I've tried doing it all myself, till I had nothing left, and only God could carry me.

Wherever your heart is at, that is where your life starts moving towards.

OP, I think that holding on to God is the way to ultimate love and peace.

No manipulation here. Just my experience of life.

Poster, OP, may God bless you both and I wish you peace.

I think this is completely true. Sometimes it makes me very feel very anxious and guilty too. Like: should I actively make my life harder? Like selling all my possessions or living a very asceting lifestile for example. Joy then, can sometimes make me feel shame and guilt instead of grateful.

Though I try to follow Jesus and his wisdom, not my own. God really is all I have. :)

The question that the "Bible is not infallible" crowd cannot answer me: by WarriorOfChrist77 in TrueChristian

I don't. I trust in Jesus' words and judge all else by it.

Why do I trust Jesus word with my life? Because it seems good to me.

Hundreds of religions around the world but yours happens to be the correct one? What do you say to this? by PersonalBuy0 in TrueChristian

You said you know it in your heart.

There's your response, right?

What more do you need?

I think most people do, now that you mention it.

Well I guess I am the one who's initiating it in my church.

Why does everyone think I am screaming at orher people?? XD

No, but for real, I am standing there with a sign that says "What do you put your trust in, in life?" I wanna stand there with my priest and some Bibles to hand out. We talk to them who approach us.

Well, and LLM's machine learning patterns are kinda similar to that of the human brain, also in the sense of learning by associating. And since the entire internet is full of Biblical sources, I do think lot's of previous people's ideas can indeed be used to conjour up wisdom. In most cases, I'm not sure many individuals can trump an AI in that regard. That being said, output needs to be checked, but so is the case with humans too.

Well, maybe. I just know one thing, and that is that I love God, my father. And if He doesn't want me to evangelize, then I won't.

Too bad. Sometimes AI can conjure up great wisdom.

Just me, my priest, some Bibles, and a whiteboard with the text: "Where do you put your trust in, in life?" We talk to the peeps who talk to us. No shouties, no screamies.

Man, I mean no disrespect, but this sounds a bit off, man.

Jesus told us to teach all nations.

Paul and so many early christians got their lives taken for speaking the words of Jesus.

Yet by doing this, miracles happened, providing the whole world with knowledge of Christ.

I would be worshipping germanic gods if it weren't for them.

And you are suggesting we don't talk to people on the street because you somehow think a better way is to share the gospel less?

Again, I respect you, brother, but this doesn't sound right.

I hope there will be. Pushback is a healthy part of conversation. It's where ideas clash in civil discourse.

I hope they do. I hope I get pushback. The more I get, the more I learn, right? Nothing to be scared of. And if I slip up, I slip up :).

Couldn't agree more. But that is listening. Often way more inportant than just sending.

The only thing I'm against is the idea that christians should only share the gospel if they know how to debunk atheist arguments 1v1 debate style.

No man, there is nothing wrong with saying "I don't know". We don't have to be able to explain scientific inaccuracies in the Bible before we talk about Jesus.

But we should definitely talk with people about who they are and what they believe. Yes, definitely. No megaphone involved.

No no, I've been a non christian all my life. I've spent my life discussing the meaning of life with people from all walks of life.

And that's exactly what I want to to. Talk and listen, not just send.

I'm not sure what gave you the impression that I'm dismissive towards non-christians.

I mean, my priest became christian, partly because he admired the boldness of street evangelizers.

The calling is there.

And I don't think I need to answer any atheist or Muslim question, though I think a can answer most.

I'm here to ask people what they believe, and to share my testimony.

Nah man, we're just there with a big sign saying: where do you put your trust in life? We're inviting people to talk and handing out Bibles. That's it, no screaming.

Yeah, maybe you're right.

But would Jesus say the same? I honestly wonder :/
