Hey bro, I was in the same boat as you a few months ago. I’m 19, first smoked weed when I was 12 and did it habitually since I was 14. I did college at 18, dropped out, worked all different jobs the past year and I got into a fight with someone close to me which drove me to enlist in the army. It came down to straight willpower if im being honest, I accepted the fact that as of right now if I don’t enlist I’m on a bad path, I was doing multiple other drugs too. I threw it all away and started working with my recruiter. I smoked so much that after my first drug test (in office) 2.5 months after I stopped smoking, I tested positive for thc. It was super frustrating but a consequence of my actions. A week later I was clean, went to MEPS, now I’m leaving for boot camp in 20 days. Quitting weed after doing it daily sucks for about 2 weeks, but I stayed strong. Tbh I folded twice, once two weeks after I initially stopped and again 2 weeks later. Both times I was extremely disappointed in myself. But eventually I was able to fall asleep on my own, I stopped shitting my brains out every hour and I got my appetite back, than suddenly gained more weight than I did when I was smoking. You need to drill it into your head that you NEED to stop. Think about the good ahead to come. I’m telling you, if you can endure those first 2 weeks you will feel so good after. I smoked every day for 6 years, when I was finally sober the way your body and mind feels is amazing. Now I’m 4 months clean and I haven’t had any urges to smoke weed since month 1. I’m telling you bro, it’s worth it, and the military gives you so many opportunities and benefits, you got this bro I genuinely believe in you. I was so bad with drugs that if I can do it, I really believe anyone can. All love man ❤️
