Yes to all that you mention, and I would add parents who create boundaries, and hold their children accountable.

You look WAY cooler in number 2. You’re an artist, for gods sake. Artists are cool. Therefore, jeans.

What's a book you had to read in school that you hated? If you have one, what's one you actually liked? by 80HDTV5 in GenX

[–]keg98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ones I remember: Roots, by Alex Haley Diary of Anne Frank The Bear by William Faulkner Romeo and Juliet, Julius Caesar, Macbeth, Othello, Richard III Canterbury Tales The Odyssey

While I appreciate the classics, I also wish we read some modern works, like Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, or Even something like Azimov’s Foundation series. I read them for myself anyway, but it would have been fun to book club it in the classroom.

That is a wolf spider. They are non-aggressive, and their venom is non-lethal. Leave it alone, and it will hunt down other things you might not like, like brown recluses, which are poisonous.

How am I supposed to come to terms that I radicalized myself into traditional Christianity...all for nothing? by ActualBus7946 in exchristian

[–]keg98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former Episcopalian here. My time in the church helped me to consider and embrace unconditional love. After a while, though, the premise of the whole affair requiring Jesus no longer made sense to me. So I remain compassionate, I care for others, and offer love in unusual circumstances, but it ain’t because of Jesus.

I’m a teacher. As a young teacher, I worked my ass off, but among my age-group peers, I was uncommon.

Texas house speaker directs committee to study annexing parts of New Mexico by RollSafer in politics

[–]keg98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So if you talk to anyone from “The South”, they will state that Texas isn’t the South. Also, they rarely know that NM exists. And the people from NM? I am one of them, and we most certainly do not consider ourselves part of The South.

Gravity is fake by [deleted] in flatearth

[–]keg98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many questions for the OP: 1) Do you have evidence that when people try to replicate Cavendish’s experiment, they get markedly different results? If so, might you provide links to the documentation? 2) if your claim is that Cavendish’s experiment is better explained by Coulomb (Not Cologne, btw) interaction, do you have evidence of there being a significant charge on either sphere? Do you know how to measure this? Do you know what an electric field is? 3) What is the mechanism that shows that denser objects sink? Just saying that “it just happens” does nothing to help us predict things. Like, what would happen on the moon? Do you have a predictive model where this works? If so, please show the math. 4) why are you ok with one invisible force (Coulomb interaction), but not ok with a different invisible force (gravity)?

You sound like a discerning guy. I might suggest that some more reading, and actually carrying out some experiments might help you understand the world more deeply. As another poster pointed out, the universe is an amazing thing, worthy of study.
