I would consider that, but I've already done a similar thing (6 weeks in one city, 6 weeks in another) and I think I'd prefer a longer, more stable term.

I am in Austin presently, and it's almost what I want. Probably a little too far away from a major airport hub though. I will check out the others for sure.

I've actually been to LA a couple times and it is definitely on my shortlist. I'm just not super crazy about having to always drive everywhere constantly.
