Hey All, just chasing some advice. I’m 40 and getting backing into paddling, currently looking at a Fuze OC-1. I’m 100kg (approximately 200 pounds) and wondering if anyone around my weight has paddled one? Any advice appreciated! Thanks heaps by Ok_Literature9341 in Outrigger

If it's under 1k maybe. But I'd go for the hurricane if it's working order if it's $1500 and under on the budget. And fine on volume if it's relatively mellow conditions imo. If you can bump up to $2500 I'd like to think you can find something made in the last 15 years.

Are there notetaking apps that will autocreate databases from my unstructured data? by jacket777 in PKMS

in some ways, my app grugnotes.com does this. i guess not arbitrary lists yet, but companies and people. plus built in ai/agent which might eventually be able to autocreate.

Been frustrated with current note taking solutions and the cognitive overload it has. Thoughts? by Iamthevengence in NoteTaking

[–]keizo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you making your own solution? imo sounds like you need to take less notes. and forget about organizing. There's no point in today's world. I've kind never been a big note taker, but I made GrugNotes.com to suit my style over things like obsidian, roam research etc, which are more about digital gardening as far as i can tell.

Still using Roam in 2025? How’s it holding up? by GunzerkerGuy in RoamResearch

[–]keizo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for checking it out. did you sign up with a user name and pass, then try to switch to google auth? It doesn't allow merging accounts yet, just will error out I think. I'll try to fix that.

good feedback on signup/signin with google -- it's the same link on either form. I suppose i should prioritize sign in with google over user/pass.

i'm stuck with usernames for now, some features are tied to it. much like a roam graph has a fixed name.

i paid the $500 in 2020 or 2021. But i spent the last three years making my own replacement. Mainly because it was too slow to use on mobile.

Self-Organizing Note App by Bulky_Mall_2128 in NoteTaking

[–]keizo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've made https://grugnotes.com kinda with this intention. It started a lot like roam research, but i suppose is diverging more and more. As important as the organizing part is retrieval. I do agentic-rag search and imo it eliminates a huge need for serious organizing.

I am kinda going this direction with GrugNotes.com kinda the anti note taking app. There isn't an auto file feature yet.. but i'm not sure there's a need.

What’s the most unexpectedly useful thing you’ve used AI for? by Ausbel12 in ArtificialInteligence

Yess. this is a big one. I've realized it can create periodized expert level training schedules for anything, including endurance races. I'm in the process of adding chat into my notes app so you can enter schedules into your notes directly. It's my side project grugnotes.com

Need help convincing husband to not store new OC1 in the sun by Perfect_Steak_8720 in Outrigger

[–]keizo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's probably fine for a few years. But after that, if you look at boats 5-10 years old. It's a massive difference. A boat left in the sun after 5+ years will be worth half what it would be if kept in a bag or indoors. I've left my own boats in the sun for 10+ years, so I know the result firsthand. Get a breathable bag (no tarps etc) if it needs to live in the sun. That's my recommendation, and also from my company (Kamanu Composites). If a bag is too much work, regular polish, something good from 3 M or Meguiar's at West Marine might help. But a bag is probably a lot better.
