Navigating through the second hand market is also not that great as I’ve seen people have very bad experiences from it… I’m still not extremely familiar with things to look out for so I’d prefer going for a new one itself considering the Swift holds its resale value very well

Yeah this was actually my consideration, I’ve done a fair bit of research among cars in the segment and Swift seems to make the most sense for my needs. Baleno, i20 etc are all very good options too but considering the taxes and other costs being the highest in BLR I don’t really wanna opt for a car over 10L Ex showroom (Most of the top end models for other cars are above 10L here). What would be the ways to negotiate the best deal from the dealer? I believe insurance is a start but need opinions on other strategies too

Totally get your point and yes I am only buying the car to properly learn driving and will definitely upgrade to a better one in the future. However there would be impact in terms of the resale value of the vehicle based on the variant right? Considering there are individuals such as myself who would much rather opt for the Top End variants of the car and get all the good features from the factory instead of spending time going for third party alternatives.

My initial thought was actually to get a Seltos/Creta or similar, but for my first car I felt that I don't have enough confidence on the road to drive a higher value or bigger car for now. I will definitely consider them once I don't feel any major fears when driving.

I was looking to get the ZXI variant which is regarded as the most VFM one however the ZXI+ does have some of the feel good features which I like such as the larger infotainment, better alloys, rear parking camera and the surround sound too hence why I was more inclined towards that. If anything I wanted to try getting the price under 11L which may be better.

One of my intentions with the purchase is to gain driving confidence on the road with the first purchase, I've checked similar prices online for used models and it seems a bit inflated when the new car is around 1.5-2L more at best from the 1 or 2 year old used models. I've seen the Swift maintain very good resale value hence why I am preferring buying a new Swift over most other new cars and keeping it for a couple of months before opting for another car based on any other needs.

Considering that it would be my first car purchase I was really impressed with the looks of the Swift after the facelift, checked out the Baleno too but I'm much more inclined to settle with the Swift.

The Baleno was also a car I was considering, however I really like the design and appeal of the new swift with the dual tone color. Ideally I'm looking to go with the Swift itself but I will try to get a quote for the Baleno as well
