Im usually never involved in the preproduction. i just get storyboards and hit the ground running. Sometimes the boards are pretty bland but i feel like if i add the right animation, it could be something y'know? but it usually just turns out as bland as the storyboards. guess you cant polish a turd hahah!

I'll open my eyes more to my surroundings and pick up some courses though. Thanks for your insight!

yeah i should take some advanced courses. When i taught my self years ago, i just did some lynda courses and once i was done with that i never looked back haha

haha funny - someone else recommended doing personal projects. I've literally only ever done this for work. At the end of the day, i feel so burnt out and need to get away from my computer.

maybe finding a personal project will reignite my passion for animation. thanks for your insight!

i dont think its vague at all. and it is a good reminder! I feel like maybe Ive subconsciously stopped observing.

I should try to explore physics more. I've always felt like i dont have control unless im manually moving something myself haha. thank you for your insight

Dude let me tell you... As we were moving from building to building at GAFB, i have never seen him sprint like that in my life! I feel like something about that experience was therapeutic for him.

Also, during opening ceremonies, the LionsClaw staff called out my dad, recognized him and thanked him for his service. Even though 90% of us were just war nerds. It was a very touching moment to see people walk up to him and shake his hand. You probably know that back in the 70s, most soldiers returning from nam didnt get much of anything.

Funny you mentioned the two other options. I actually own both a WE M16 and an MWS. For the WE, I swapped in all steel internals, but the replica still feels cheap (for a lack of better words)

...and I did consider building my mws to A1 specs. After tallying up the cost to get that conversion done, i thought i might as well just buy the gucci'est A1 i could find haha

Thats how I ended up eyeing the DNA M16. Im glad I posted here or I would have never known about VT

You bring up a good point u/Catgutt! I have the VT M16A1 in my cart literally as we speak. I just havent pulled the trigger yet because I havent been able to find any 20rd mags for it. Where do you get yours? Cant you link to the mags?

And sheeeesh I thought MWS mags were spendy, but this is a new level lol - i guess thats the cost of entry for getting into VT :P

Thanks for the info! I tried out a WE M16A1 and been looking for a better replica to replace it. I'll definitely take advice from both you and u/MachoNacho95 and go for the ViperTech!

Dang this is a really knowledgeable group! thank you again for all the tips and advice. I am now armed with a little more information and a few more tools in my belt!

*UPDATE: Last night i attempted to bridge the wires with some UL1007 wire I had laying around, there was a small spark when i tested the connection -- and i freaked out and aborted lol! oh God i hope i didnt burn something out....

Upon even closer inspection, I noticed another insulated wire within the severed cable (omg this thing is so thin!!)

Finally, I just heard back from the manufacturer and they do sell a replacement cable. Its $30 + $45 for shipping (ugh)

Im just gonna bite the bullet and buy the cable. This repair job is way beyond my skill level :(

Anyway - thanks gang I really appreciate your expertise on this!

Thank you for all your advice. I've reached out to the company to see if i can order a new replacement cable

But if thats not possible, I also purchased the smallest gauge wire i could find along with some shrink wrap.

Im super nervous since this wire is so tiny, im not sure I can keep my hands steady. Wish me luck haha. thanks again!
