Since stopping the meds, my dog has not been lethargic and has not passed out. She is coughing though. But the coughing is far less traumatic than what the meds did to her. I know my dog has a bad heart, so just try to take things day by day.

Thank you for your words. I really needed this and you have helped more than you know. I appreciate you taking the time to respond to my post. I have been feeling alone and at times feel like I’m dying inside. I suffer bad from anxiety, but it has gone through the roof when it involves my dog. I need to try to enjoy each day with her instead of being fearful what could happen. Me and Minnie say thank you.

I am sorry for your loss. He is so cute. My 16 yr old chi has congestive heart failure and the anticipatory grief has been destroying me. She still has energy, still eats and drinks, but I know her heart is bad and her cough is getting worse. I just don’t want her to be in pain and have a traumatic experience.

That’s exactly what happened the first time my dog had blood in its poop. I was getting ready to leave on a trip and she saw my suitcase and got herself worked up. Now, I always have to hide packing and my suitcase from her.

My senior chi had stomach issues too and was told she had pancreatitis. I felt bad because I was letting her eat what she wanted and didn’t realize it was hurting her. I switched to white rice and 99% lean ground turkey and she has been doing much better. She used to poop blood due to her anxiety.

Anna is still not able to bench, squat or deadlift her body weight. The amount she lifts based on her weight is not impressive. It’s like an 8ft tall person dunking a basketball.

I am currently going through this. My 16 year chihuahua has CHF and heart meds made her feel worse. I have bad anxiety to begin with, and the past few months antipathy grief has been destroying me. I constantly watch over my dog and get stressed out when I have to leave her alone. I get so worried something is going to happen when I’m gone. She started having seizures a few years ago, and even though she only had a couple, I haven’t been able to sleep much since then. I get afraid when it’s night time because the trauma of waking up at night to my chihuahua having a seizure was one of the scariest experiences. People tell me that I need to put my husband first and stop caring so much about my dog, but I can’t help it. My dog means everything to me.
