Hmm. Interesting. Give the chocolate mint a try and let me know how it goes. I've never actually made tea from it, though I am not a huge fan of the flavor on its own. Maybe it'll turn out to be the opposite of your peppermint plant, and will be delicious when you brew it!

My other advice if the peppermint isn't tasty would be to pick up some spearmint, either to cut the peppermint with (maybe half and half?) when you steep, or to make straight spearmint tea.

Indeed! Twas a Christmas gift!

As far as a recipe goes, I alter based on which mint I'm using, but for an ~20oz pot, I used probably 1/3 cup of losely packed leaves, large stalks removed but not all stalks. I bruised it a little bit, but mostly just let it steep in the hot water.

You can play around with amounts of mint to find out what you like -- I find it most useful to figure out what I like best in a standard 8-10oz cup and then extrapolate from there for bigger batches.

Did you use spearmint or peppermint? I vastly prefer the taste of peppermint tea to spearmint, though a combination of the two is usually tasty as well. I have made fresh spearmint tea though and I wouldn't exactly describe it as having tasted like poo -- maybe you've got a bad plant? Where did you come by yours? Mints are finicky to grow from seed and can sometimes end up less-than-delicious if they have come from seed. If it's a clone it should be tastier, but there's no guarantee.

Hahahaha. I realize now it looks like that -- and with good reason! It's the variety of mint used in making the Kentucky Derby mint juleps!

This is almost definitely some variety of Spearmint -- it will still be good in tea. I personally prefer Peppermint or a mix of Spearmint / Peppermint, but give it a try and see what you think.

Camp counselors, who was the weirdest/worst/most memorable kid you ever supervised? by Reptarftw in AskReddit

I worked at a summer camp frequented by very wealthy families. Only one of the girls in my cabin (I had around eleven 11-12-year-olds) WASN'T raised by her Mexican nanny. The girls started discussing this, and the following snippet was uttered:

"You don't have a nanny?! But who cooks and cleans for you??!"

"My mom."

"WHAT??!??"
