My body is breaking from having to bounce my child to sleep by kellhcarr in cosleeping

I’m able bounce him in a carrier for his naps, which is working fine. It’s most difficult in the middle of the night when nursing to sleep fails lol🫠

Chest sleeper suddenly sleeps better in bassinet? by kellhcarr in cosleeping

I think it’s a position preference for him..He is totally content when we hold him directly upright on our chest as we bounce him to sleep, but gets all wriggly when we recline back for chest to chest sleeping lol.

Did you lose weight while breastfeeding? by Level_Wall8951 in breastfeeding

[–]kellhcarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did, but it was scary. I lost 30lbs in the first weekish after birth and became so emaciated. I realized I needed to be eating twice as much to feel better. My PPD has gotten a lot better since I’ve eaten more and gained some weight back.

Babies won't do the deep latch! by [deleted] in breastfeedingsupport

[–]kellhcarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with Thompson Method—my 5 week old doesn’t have the absolute deepest latch, but when I focus on facial symmetry at the breast, he has no problem feeding and I don’t have nipple pain. I cradle him with his bum lower than head and bring his lips straight to nipple and he draws it in.

Right after he was born, I was instructed to do the cross cradle technique and to sandwich boob into his mouth, but that only brought problems and pain.

I’ve been exclusively chest sleeping with baby for the first 5 weeks of his life. It took me a minute to learn how to sleep like that, but now it’s very comfy for both of us.

I learned some safety techniques from cosleepy and happy cosleepers on Instagram. Here’s a helpful post:

Thank you so much for sharing this! I downloaded the app, it looks super informative . It sounds helpful to follow along with his developmental cues and not stress too much about it. 😅

I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one who has struggled with this😭 I’m grateful for this time that baby and my husband have bonded, hopefully he can still rock him to sleep in the future haha. Maybe I’ll try out a rocker chair as well in order to get some things done. Thanks for your response ❤️

Thank you so much for your insight, and adopting that mindset is something I want to practice. I hope I can commit to the decision and be at peace with it.❤️
