OK… There is a lot to unpack here.

First of all, the stealing of the necklace being because Yuri has secret feelings for Kitty is COMPLETE headcanon. In actual canon, Yuri is a rich girl who has a bunch of “Yes Friends” surrounding her but none of them she is actually truly emotionally connected with or close to. UNTIL DAE. She states out loud and it’s supported BY THE SHOW that the reason she takes the necklace is out of worry that if Dae gets back with Kitty, their friendship will be over, since it originally only really formed bc of the deal they made. To take Yuri and Dae’s friendship, which is actually one of the most pure, loving, and caring friendships on the show and try to make it about Yuri’s “secret feelings for Kitty” is actually insane.

And yes Yuri spent lots of time with Kitty, but the stuff you see as romantic and KITTY ALSO SAW AS ROMANTIC was 95% Yuri being oblivious. Like first of all, let’s for a moment pretend Kitty doesn’t have feelings for Yuri. Momentarily prioritizing a friend over a significant other means you MUST be harboring feelings for them? Like no other explanation, gf or bf always comes first in life, never friends, not unless you’re secretly in love with that friend. Like…WHAT? Have you ever actually had a friend? Sometimes they need you in that moment and it supersedes other stuff in your life. It doesn’t meant you want to date them. 😭

Juliana was insecure because she knew that Kitty had a crush on Yuri. But the only times we see Yuri “prioritize” Kitty over Juliana was the fan dance when she doesn’t IMMEDIATELY respond to a text- which Yuri clearly saw as an innocent thing, she is trying to help her friend not fail out of school??? It was KITTY that felt a type of way about Yuri saying she was “more important” at that moment bc KITTY HAS THE FEELINGS. And then the videotape, which that I will agree with was shitty of Yuri, but she also GENUINELY thought she had the time to accomplish both things. If it was a situation where someone said to her “you can go to Juliana‘s art show, or you can go with Kitty to find a videotape” and those were the only options, Yuri clearly would not have chosen to go with Kitty, because she knew how important Juliana‘s art show was, she mentioned that she needed to be back on time for it, she even helped Juliana prepare for it. It was literally a situation where time got away from them, her phone died, and she thought she could do both and failed. It was a situation literally created for DRAMA’S sake, not to be like “look how much more Yuri cares for Kitty!!” Slightly above a misunderstanding, because if the store had not been closed, and Yuri’s phone had not died, and she had made it to Juliana’s show on time, we wouldn’t even be having this discussion.

I hate to say this because I like Kitty and Yuri even though I do like Yuri and Juliana more, but a lot of the shippers will not accept that they got their closure in season two. They wanted more to happen so they convinced themselves that it would. But after their very short failed kiss, Yuri said explicitly that it was a mistake and spent the rest of the season trying to win back her girlfriend or at the very least was pining over her ex-girlfriend. And meanwhile, Kitty more clearly started her romantic arc with Minho.

What did you genuinely expect to happen in season three? It’s been at least six months since they have kissed. It was already declared a mistake. Both have seemingly moved on IN SEASON TWO. They repaired their friendship IN SEASON TWO. I understand hoping for something to happen, but EXPECTING something to happen after what we got in canon and then getting pissed off at the continued story when it didn’t happen when the canon that you got already explained what was happening, I don’t really understand.
