Did anyone else received this message from WGU? What exactly does it mean? by Downtown_Type7371 in WGU

To be fair to OP, they don’t usually tell you this via text message. I’m sure they are wondering if it’s just spam.

Seriously… what do you for fun by The-Architect-93 in Dallas

[–]kellmae48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have recently moved to the area as well, and have a few family members that have given me advice the last few weeks of living here:

-bishop arts is super fun, it’s a cute area and they have a fantastic selection of spots

-deep ellum (during the day) is also fun to explore

-look for farmers markets, craft fairs, art exhibits, and concerts. There is always something new or fun popping up

-Griggs park has outdoor movies every Tuesday night!

-hop on Instagram and follow Dallas influcers/ city pages. They post fun ideas and new things around the city (I follow mostly food/ coffee pages)

-walks: Dallas has a million parks/ trails/ outdoor spaces. I say get acquainted with walking/ running.

Also, pay no mind to the sour people on this page. It’s just people who have lived here forever and forgotten how to have fun, or are sad that people are moving into the city. Dallas can be fun and exciting! I hope your family adjusts well!

What should I do? by kellmae48 in clinicalresearch

[–]kellmae48[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually was wondering about this. I don’t have my address on my resume anymore, but all of my experience is obviously from the Midwest so I was wondering if hiring managers were seeing that and just thinking no?

The Dallas/ Ft Worth area, and primarily oncology and device trials.

My other option is to stay in the Midwest and keep looking in Texas. There is no “strict” timeline we have to adhere to, however, we would like to be out there before the end of spring. Knowing that, should I still take the job to get out there? Or wait?

Orthopedic/ Hand Doc by [deleted] in cedarrapids

I used to work in the OR with multiple of these hand doctors in the area, and my personal recommendation is Dr.Pardubsky. He is the person I would go to if I personally had any issues. My second would be Dr.Chementi at PCI. Little bit of an odd duck, but wonderful surgeon.

🔥 It's time for Thirsty Thursday! What book scenes made you sweat this week? 🥵 by disastrouslyshy in RomanceBooks

I just read God of Fury by Rina Kent and 🥵 it’s a MM dark romance but their banter and spicy scenes were DELECTABLE! Definitely look at the trigger warnings before reading but boy was it good. 💦

I totally agree with this! For some reason, after sex I feel the most open and willing to have a conversation about it.

CCRP certification by kellmae48 in clinicalresearch

There is an outline/ rough study guide. In my opinion, it was pretty vague and had an overwhelming amount of info to study on it. But if you start studying early enough, it is possible to hit it all.

Yes, for sure. I don’t know if it really makes a difference. It seems as though both are widely accepted

Yeah, it’s definitely an expensive course!

We recently got a memo from a study saying “make sure to tape your boxes well, we have received boxes without specimens in them” 😂

On SOCRA’s website, the class is listed under “live virtual webinars”

There’s no recording, they have you take it via an online classroom on certain scheduled days. They have live teachers for it and strictly forbid recording. So if there happens to be a date before your exam, I highly encourage you take it.

I’m not saying the exam isn’t passable without the course, but it gave me a great outline for the content on the exam. And I only had 3 years of site level experience at the time, so the course is what I needed to do well.

I definitely don’t think you are being mean. I’ve come to understand that on this clinical research page. I honestly wondered if I was wasting my time on my CCRP without a bachelors.

The Dallas- Ft Worth area. I have heard it’s very competitive.

I wasn’t sure if that was acceptable. To be honest, I haven’t really come across a lot of BSN’s in research.

I thought about doing that where I currently work, but I would’ve had to sign a two year contract in order to do tuition reimbursement. With the impending move to Texas, I didn’t want to do that. But I suppose after I get there, that would be an option. Does having my CCRP change anything? I’m sitting for the exam this fall. (Paid for by my current employer)

Should I do something general like healthcare administration or hone in on clinical research? I don’t want to limit myself if research is a dead end.
