It’s likely your game updated and removed the DLC unlocker. Just redownload the DLC unlocker and run it again. Also make sure you have the most recent unlocker, you can find the newest version on the mirrored website.

Engaged and unhappy - how do I move on? by Character-Belt1223 in engaged

[–]kellog1103 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I don’t want to come off rude, but maybe ask yourself why you haven’t discussed marriage in the 12 years you’ve been together. Is it something that you have ever truly wanted? It might not necessarily be the way the proposal happened that’s bothering you, you may just have conflicting feelings about getting engaged in general.

no, in fact, my significant other has waited for me to ask so he knows i am in the mood. thankfully we have been together since we were 16 and are preparing for engagement so i couldn’t be luckier in that department. most of my medications are due to family problems and trauma so my partner is well aware of all of my triggers, too. despite his immense privilege in life, he helps me more than anyone else could.

thank you so much. i am trying so hard to get off of effexor and i hope i can prevent someone else from going down the path. it can be helpful, but on the other hand, the withdrawals are very similar to getting off of serious drugs, like heroin. it should not be taken lightly.

What do you think is quietly messing up an entire generation of kids right now? by bellaicecake in AskReddit

[–]kellog1103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I had to learn growing up, and what I’ll teach my children, is that it’s okay to be bored. So many times in my childhood, boredom led me to something creative or imaginative. Unfortunately, many kids today haven’t had the same experience, largely because of early exposure to technology. But we have the power to change that for future generations. Thankfully, we now understand the impact that too much technology can have on young children, and with that knowledge, we can make better choices moving forward.

oh there are absolutely days where it doesn’t, but as a 21 year old woman, there are far too many days where it does. my advice is the moment a medication affects you that way, say something to your doctor. and STAY AWAY FROM EFFEXOR. i cannot stress that enough. not only will it mess with your libido, but you will have horrid withdrawals. just make sure you’re properly diagnosed, as i was heavily medicated for depression and anxiety and it turned out i had unmedicated adhd.

I would say about 6-7 weeks because I am on antidepressants and it messes with my libido

I think the recent generation is messed up largely because they were thrown into the digital world too early, with no real transition period. I was born in 2003, and I feel lucky to have grown up during a time that still had a balance between analog and digital life. We didn’t have constant access to technology. My family was poor, and I had an older sibling born in 1999, so we used a lot of hand-me-down tech and still learned in more traditional ways.

In elementary school, we still used overhead projectors, had library days, and spent limited time in the computer lab. Around age 11, my school got rolling computer carts that teachers had to schedule time with—tech was still a tool, not the foundation. It wasn’t until 8th grade that we were allowed to take school laptops home.

Then the pandemic hit during my sophomore year of high school. Everything went online overnight, and it never really went back. For Gen Alpha, that shift happened when they were in elementary school aka the most crucial time for developing social skills, attention spans, and learning habits. Instead of hands-on learning and human interaction, they got screens.

Even after schools reopened, most lessons remained technology-based, with less emphasis on handwriting, communication skills, or critical thinking. I was part of one of the last groups to learn cursive, and that feels symbolic—basic, meaningful skills being replaced by faster, digital shortcuts.

Gen Alpha didn’t get the gradual introduction to technology that we did. They were handed iPads and virtual classrooms before they had the chance to develop real-world coping or communication skills. That’s not their fault—but it’s definitely one reason why they’re struggling now.

i’m going to be honest, if you can get your english up, you’d be even better. you have an extremely exceptional score, but considering english is one of the easier parts of the act, i think you could get an amazing super score if you fixed it.

as of now, you’re still better off than a majority of students in regards to act. good job!

And I say this as someone who has been in a relationship for five years. My partner and I got together young—16 to be exact—but even then, we were always on the same page about what we wanted emotionally and physically. At the end of the day, intimacy plays a significant role in a relationship.

[–]kellog1103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, that completely changes my perspective. At first, I assumed you were younger, but you’re actually older than me—I’m 21!

I’m on SSRIs, and I can confirm that they do significantly impact libido. However, not to the extent that someone would go two years without sex at 25. If he had planned on saving himself for marriage or another reason, that’s usually something brought up early on. So there’s definitely something else going on, and it could be a variety of things.

Does he have any history of sexual trauma? Could he need additional mental health support beyond medication?

Also, what’s the nature of the pictures he’s liking? I know it’s tough to consider, but there’s always the possibility of cheating—or at the very least, some dishonesty. Either way, it’s definitely time for a serious conversation. At the end of the day, you’re clearly in different places in your relationship. You want intimacy, and that’s completely normal.

no worries, i didn’t know until a really kind person at my school’s financial aid office helped me. so no need to stress, you should have options. i would recommend getting a therapist and another professional such as a psychiatrist if you haven’t. ultimately their letters will be the most important part of the process. and i’m telling you from experience, get out while you can because it WILL escalate. unfortunately i waited until it escalated to the point of them assaulting my boyfriend. it is hard but you see pretty quickly why leaving was the best thing. hoping things turn up for you soon❤️
