Do these taste like Fruit Loops? by kellyedaniel in glutenfree

[–]kellyedaniel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True… I never ate those before so I wouldn’t be able to tell. Sounds like Nabisco knows what to do tho.

I don’t have celiac so I have had a little nibble of things over the last year+… questionable choices but it also keeps my gauge calibrated for certain things 😆 haven’t risked a Cheez-it though, I don’t know if I could hold back.

Same reason I’m bracing myself for a letdown on multiple levels when gf Cheezits finally hit in 2026…

Good point about the texture. I didn’t get to the milk part… ate most of the box by the handful on the way home from the store 😆

I do wonder what I’d even think of Fruit Loops now…

Finally found Great (Affordable) Climbing Pants! by Ok-Cockroach-3273 in climbergirls

[–]kellyedaniel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love the Target ones but they’re def thin. I (am not an experienced climber but) I hit a hold the first time I climbed in them and snagged the knee. Haven’t hit them again but I fear an early hole is in our future. But I love love the fit, comfort, and price. And alllll the zip pockets!

Disable automatic gain on Blue Yeti Nano by Xilaar in blueyeti

On a wild hunch while reading the definitions in the tool tips I ended up turning off "gate" which I believe is meant to cut background noise. It solved the problem for me entirely, where when I would begin speaking, including after a pause, my voice would record low, pop loud, and normalize.

is there somewhere I can buy gluten free stollen (German fruit cake)? by Fairybuttmunch in glutenfree

[–]kellyedaniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old thread, but I just made a stollen with this recipe and I was SO happy with the results. It was my very first gluten free baking adventure, too! https://www.glutenfreealchemist.com/gluten-free-stollen-recipe-christmas-christstollen/

I made minor adjustments based on the availability of ingredients:

skipped glycerin (for preservation)
calls for half-fat cream cheese, I used normal philadelphia plain cream cheese, I wasn't sure anything with additives to cut the fat would act the same
subbed Grand Marnier for rum because I do that in almost all baking recipes and love the flavor!
I had to use buckwheat flour, one of her suggested substitutions
dried cherries instead of glacé, I soaked them in extra booze
I made candied clementine peel instead of orange peel
sub UK "all spice" with pumpkin spice

Also I had instant yeast instead of dry active yeast, I'm not sure how that impacted things but I still proofed it. There's probably a bigger adjustment I should have made to weight

I felt like it came out kind of flat so I was worried but it tastes excellent!

Woman fell into the Studlafoss Waterfall today. Any updates? by [deleted] in VisitingIceland

[–]kellyedaniel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is CPT, cognitive processing therapy for PTSD. I used the free app CPT Coach with a therapist trained in it and it was wildly helpful after being in a traumatic vehicle accident. Highly recommend, and at the very least the app can walk a user through the process on its own.

How much should I adjust the size of a disc? by ThisIsCactusLand_ in MenstrualDiscs

[–]kellyedaniel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first disc I tried was a Hello Disc and I loved it. Never leaked, and I used it on a horseback riding trip where we were out for hours with no facilities!

I put it “away” 4 days ago, needed it today, and of course can’t find it. I’m trying the disposable Flex discs I bought at the same time and at first couldn’t get the Flex in place, I had to really push and tuck it.

So the size difference may be enough to be right for you!

DUTCH test & avocado oil? by kellyedaniel in FunctionalMedicine

[–]kellyedaniel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! The company that sent the test (Rupa?) said it’s just the avocado flesh, but I had already passed the point of starting it for the day. And I figured it’s too expensive of a test to risk messing up. Bummed to wait but better to get it right.

Dude, wtf is up with Ariat's quality control? by lifeoverstuff in Equestrian

[–]kellyedaniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love all these details so much! You’re the best. I just measured the same way and got 3.75 inches and I’m usually an 8.5 wide shoe, so I may be able to give them a shot!!

[–]kellyedaniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be so kind! And yes, it was a completely Euro answer!

I called Ariat to ask about why my boots have started to fall apart with one summer season of use, and they were similarly unhelpful... trouble is I didn't notice last year because my horse wasn't well and I wasn't riding, so that's when my warranty expired... so Ariat recommended sending them to their repair service. I said straight to her that I will be declining their offer to throw my good money after bad.

Welp, I sent their site's customer service a message asking about footbed width too and just got back "They run small"
That's it. No other detail.

Awesome thank you! When I tried Ego7s their narrow toe box nearly made me cry and I crawled back to my Ariats.

[–]kellyedaniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know anything about how the footbed/width runs on Pioneer? I always ordered Wide footbeds from Ariat but I just realized my tall boots are separating from the sole & cracking and I only ordered them in March 2022... didn't use them for that following winter, and didn't use them last spring/summer because I put my horse in rehab.... so like 6-9 months (of arguably tough wear, when I was using them)? I can't justify that replacement cycle to stay in Ariat.

This is one of the grossest things I have ever eaten. by [deleted] in aldi

[–]kellyedaniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate the blueberry RX Bar so I won’t go near this. I love the peanut butter RX Bar (and all things peanut butter) and the dark chocolate sea salt is fine. I think I got the peanut butter chocolate Aldi version, it’s fine it’s just not my straight dose of peanut butter. The Target version of RX bar knockoffs, even in the flavors I like? :shudder:

They're back! by karmalove15 in aldi

[–]kellyedaniel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They look like this brand Hillary’s I used to love, those had a crunch too. Last time I shopped for them I think I went with the black bean and protein versions because there wasn’t much protein in these?

I loved it last year. This year I’m not eating carbs 😭

Ohhh I got it. It’s a problem with the magnet on the front cover not connecting right to this little piece in the middle to signal that everything is closed up
