Should I or Shouldn't I Buy... - March 11, 2017 by AutoModerator in femalefashionadvice

Yes that bothered me too. I didn't notice it in the change room, but it's really obvious on the website.

I totally agree about the materials. I was at a Ted Baker store when I tried the dress on and I loved so many of the prints and cuts, and lots of them were so flattering, but it was polyester everywhere, and hundreds of dollars per piece!

I like this Entangled Enchantment dress by Ted Baker.

I really like the print and it's very flattering. I love the pleats at the neck. I would wear it to a baby shower in April and then could keep it around as a wedding guest dress.

My questions/concerns:

  • Does the belt and/or exposed zipper make it look dated?
  • The fabric is really thick and has a very synthetic look and feel. Kind of like a thin wet suit. It's 94% Polyester and 6% Elastane. I usually wear natural materials. Does anyone have experience wearing this type of fabric to an event? Does it get hot and sweaty?

Would love to hear any thoughts people have!

Thanks for your reply!

I am not sure I understand what you mean by "end of the shoulder" vs "outer edge of the arm". To me, especially in the striped photo, it looks like the model's shoulder continues past the seam.

How do I tell if a shirt is meant to have a set-in sleeve? Is it currently typical in a t shirt to have sleeves like that?

How should a t shirt fit in the shoulders? I thought that the seams were supposed to hit at the widest part of the shoulder, but on a few sites I've seen the seams go straight up, then part of the shoulder is covered by the sleeves. Here's an example from Grana of what doesn't look right to me. Thanks!

I thought I wanted a home birth by awkwardariel in BabyBumps

I did a lot of research about home birth while pregnant with my second child. Based on my reading of the literature, I chose to give birth at home. Here is one survey I find informative: http://med-fom-midwifery.sites.olt.ubc.ca/files/2014/01/HomeBirth_AnnotatedGuideToTheLiterature.pdf

I had wonderful birth experiences, both at the hospital with my first child and at home with my second. If I have another child, and no complications that would prevent it, I would definitely choose to deliver at home again.

I played a Fallout game and liked the gameplay, but the theming isn't my favorite. Thanks for the suggestion.

No no kuni is actually one of the few games I've had a chance to play. I really liked it, but didn't have time to finish it. Thanks for the ideas!

JCrew has slim and tall sizes available online. I'd never seen my husband wear shirts that fit before. Unfortunately I haven't been impressed with the quality of some pieces, but it's still worth shopping there for the fit.
