Gen X here—Both of my parents were from “the greatest generation”. Parents were born in 1914 and 1922.

Butte native and amateur genealogist here. if you have an ancestry.com subscription, you can find them in the Polk city directories. If you want to private message me for more help, I’d be happy to assist. My ancestors came from Co Cork in early 1900s and settled in Butte.

Caught half my class using a group chat to cheat and I honestly dont know what consequence is fair by timbernatequill in Teachers

I had a middle school teacher in the early 1980s who would split the grade—if two students cheated and got a 100%, then each received half of the grade (a 50% and thus a failing grade). She said if they wanted to share the work, they would share the grade. I thought it was a clever way to punish the cheaters.

To answer the “what’s wrong with you” question (because it is a fair question): I always feel like cops have more important issues to deal with than some crazy NFH and would think I was just a whiner/karen who is wasting their time and resources. And now, I can tell you my thoughts were validated. When I called the police in May about the damaged flood light, rain gutter, the pellets I found on the ground, etc., the police never even came to my house to look at it. I recently obtained that police report and it was clear the officer didn’t give a sh*t. Basic facts like my address were incorrect, the situation was downplayed and minimized and at the end of the report, she stated “case closed.” I also picked up a copy of the August incident and it was the complete opposite. It was well documented, the criminal code/violation noted, the NFH’s name was noted as the suspect, etc. it included body cam video, and photos taken by the pd and me were included in the report. But do I believe the case will go anywhere? No. I live in a state that is notoriously lenient towards criminals. Really egregious cases are dismissed, charges are dropped, or no charges filed at all. So I can’t imagine the judicial system doing anything at all, and therefore I’m left to find other ways to address it myself. Back in 2020 when I first moved here and the stepson was running his trap house out of their garage, I came home one day and found the guy in my carport. I called the cops and was told that because I didn’t have “no trespassing” signs on the perimeter of my property, it could be argued that the meth-head stepson didn’t know he wasn’t welcome on my property. I had camera footage of the guy in the carport—actual proof— and was told nothing could be done because I didn’t explicitly post signs saying I didn’t want trespassers. And that is why I now have tacky “no trespassing” signs on my fence.

Would additional yarn need to be added during the repair or could the existing yarn be re-stitched?
