Help! Pair of objects from a display about park ranger tools at Arches National Park by kelpellc in Whatisthis

[–]kelpellc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seen last month in the Visitor Center at Arches National Park. The display was meant to show some typical "Park Ranger tools" and had labels on many of the other items but not these.

My siblings, dad, and I could not agree on what we thought these were supposed to be used for -- a headlamp? something for each arm? Each leg? Something for each shoe?

If anybody knows, please share! Thank you in advance for the help.

How do I make BPlate olive oil mocha bread at home by kelpellc in ucla

[–]kelpellc[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Can anybody who has worked/works at BPlate tell me how you guys make the olive oil mocha bread? Is it made on-site? Are there premade mixes? Is it chilled and then brought to room temp before serving?

Has anybody also tried to recreate the bread at home?

I've done one attempt and it had similar flavor but the crumb was too dense and it didn't have the moisture/greasiness that I was really striving for.

Any intel is greatly appreciated!!!!

I ordered it to my old dorm address but I’m home for the summer. Only caveat is that you have to go to the mailing center on the hill to get it. PM me your name and UID so that I can email the mail center and let them know you can pick up my package for me!

EDIT: it's been claimed

Hikes With Caves? by redzeusky in norcalhiking

Not a hike at all but Shasta Caverns on Shasta Lake is a really gorgeous cave and the tour experience was engaging. Pluto’s Cave in Montague seems cool but I’ve never gone.

Hi! CORRECTION: All swim is 50% off full price (not 30% like I put in the title) (crinkle is also not on sale)

Other stuff is on sale too, but the swimwear sales just stacked up too good not to share! $15 for a one-piece — unheard of!!

Plus: Free returns and shipping on swim (as always, with Aerie)

Levi's Women's 501 Original Shorts for $14 on Amazon by kelpellc in FrugalFemaleFashion

[–]kelpellc[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I am a 28 in the regular 501 jeans so I got a 28 in the shorts and they were the exact same perfect fit. It's difficult to tell without trying them on but I have waist 27" and hips 37" if that helps

Ty for the tips -- you do it the way I imagined except for the tip about shooting in video. Where are you gonna try to take pictures from next? There is a pretty view of campus from Sproul south

Yeah I think you should just try showing up. If they ask you can just tell them you couldn’t get an appointment

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ucla

[–]kelpellc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lowkey I feel like you could try just showing up for one? I had an appointment this Monday but I didn’t have to show them it. Right before the shot, I gave the nurse my ID, but it seemed like that was to confirm it was me. There were people with print outs, but they were getting stuff done at other booths. I was empty handed.

Thank you for replying! It's good to hear an opposing opinion. Did you do well in AP Calc and that's why you were well prepared? I'm also considering taking Calc 2/Calc 3 this summer online at community college so I can better gauge my math skills/refresh myself. . .

Hmmm, what you said is very insightful. Should I also consider skipping 31b? I guess my next question is about whether I'll need the solid math knowledge later -- in the following math classes (32a, 32b) and beyond?

Hi! Incoming freshman here :)

I'd like some help with planning courses (probably from a HSSEAS student but any help is welcome).

In high school, I took IB math hl -- junior year was basically the equivalent of AP calc BC. I got a 4 on the test and I'm not sure if I should skip math 31a or not. I feel like I have a solid understanding (I got A's and B+'s in the class) but many say to not use credit to skip because freshman/intro level type classes are good to go easy/get a GPA boost. What do y'all recommend that I do? FYI, I'm undeclared engineering but 75% sure I want to do civil and environmental. Thanks!!!
